We already have overlapping gacha/event releases between SS/TD/SfP/GK, but in the scenario of the first 2 inevitably wrapping up, Bamco could just allocate their resources to a single danketsu game.
I think that would actually be more convenient for Bamco than managing several games of varying profitability.

I think theres some confusion. The way GK works is that Bamco wanted a new branch but went outside to get someone to help develop the app. CG is Cygames wanted to use the imas branding to make an idol game and so Bamco let them use it so all initiative was with Cygames.

It's pretty clear Cygames is the one who is done with it and so Bamco is kinda left with a product they still want to continue but don't really have the capabilities to. Especially when they have their hands full with both ML and SC.

Kind of a weird way to put it/comparison to make, but I think they're stuck in the situation that the Skyline/Celica were in in the early 2000s when they got killed. ML and SC are fundamentally incapable of scratching the same itch as CG because of differences in narrative style and character development. I'm not going to call TD and SC/SfP pretentious, but they generally take themselves a lot more seriously most of the time.
CG's greatest strength is its ability to effortlessly switch between being lighthearted and silly with minimal character development, to being extremely serious and well thought out, sometimes on a dime. Relationships between characters are extremely important, but they aren't shoved down your throat.

GK is successful because it also scratches this itch. The market for ML/SC's style of storytelling is not as large as the market for more casual storytelling. And strict canon where people sperg out about how characters are written is not as good for generating fanworks as loose canon is where the artist can just project whatever stories they want onto the setting.

Reasons why Danketsu games never work

Usually these are made for fanservice so there's never a good story. Don't even pretend Koharu and Aya made any sense. Even then, imas was never about the plot but more on the character writing however...

Because they want to include as many people as possible, characters are usually flanderized or very safe. You're not getting any conflicts from anyone to avoid people looking bad. You can't get any character development because no one is in a "canon" game. There's also that their main writers can't write for them.

One of the main reasons to play imas and it's prob gonna be bad. While StS did get songs, in general, they're just going to concentrate on bringing in existing ones instead of new songs. Even then like with StS, any new songs will just be "generic unit songs" anyone can sign which means you lose any sort of character nuances.

The Choucho Musubi full is pretty good, it is the shortest anniversary song so far so there isn't much new outside of the game size (7Days had a nice D part that improved it for example), but a compact anime-style song is nice once in a while too.

Uh, no, it's Bamco's management. They are the ones dictating what happens and how much or little Takayama can do in any given situation.
During cough season they got fucked up way worse than other games that quickly went back to business as usual. That's most definitely what staggered the development of SfP and led to a rushed release forced by Bamco.

Obviously a big part of it is that neither needs to share the profits with the other anymore (Namco especially because they use Asobi for TD/SfP to not only not have to share with another company, but to sidestep Apple/Google entirely, hence the better jewel deals on Asobi) but they've also both gone their separate ways from CG for the most part.
All of the internal iM@S stuff at Namco has always been focused on smaller cast sizes, which they further expanded on with SC and GK, whereas Cygames used their "wide cast" experience from CG and other games like GF to make Uma, which is basically what a sequel game to SS would've been in basically every way but branding (huge cast, improved graphics/gameplay loop, emphasized character focus, etc.). Doing a full-scale CG "revival" in 2025+ just doesn't make much sense to either company.
Why would Namco want to split profits with Cygames again, lose their Asobi jewel bonus programs, all just to have to spend an absolute fuckton of cash with something that doesn't really align with what they want to do with iM@S?

TD barely had any sort of storytelling and when it does its usually done through narratives played by the idols with very out there scenarios. TDs main issue is that it's mainly an ocean of mid-writing with rare highs or lows to get excited about but it's not like anyone ever talks about SS events or Commus even before the slowdown.

Personally, CGs strength has always come from the passionate community. They were the ones who usually added nuance and stories to the idols which were usually just made canon and added later on. That's why P's are always so passionate and attached to them because a lot of CG idols were made from the ground up by both fans and the creators. Not really. More so, when the act of forcing someone to do practically nothing in hopes of the employee himself quitting rather than the company firing him (madogiwazoku, oidashibeya, etc). For some who actually reached the mandatory age of retirement but still wants to explore other work, they might refer to it as 第二の人生.

Although, the usual problem of trying to change career late (harder to pick up new stuff, some habits from the old job lingers, etc) is still there and the thought of bothering their coworkers (along with the fear of just being told "Figure it out yourself" after asking) just adds to the pressure.
