How many of you feel like this meta is the death of this game? I play since s11 where lifesteal was illegal, and yet I feel that meta had at least some fun on it and some way to counterplay it. Now they decided that tanks had to be broken and they designed the most trash meta ever seen, boring even to watch. Outplays are dead because point-click and chain cc solves every problem and kiting is useless since movement speed became uncontrollable. Every tank item is as strong as divine sunderer in season 12 and all tanks just run into you to do more burst damage than a 10/0 assassin while being immortal when they are like 0/3. It's less meta and more of the devs wanting games to last at or around 20 to 30 mins. 40+ min games ending in losses feels fucking awful but so too does losing to high power early champs that can take over the map in literally less than 10 mins (Kha, Lee, fucking Olaf).
So Riot has hobbled themselves into this weird state where champions cant be so weak as to not allow for long games, but not so strong as to win the game early to the point there's no playing. Unfortunately the result is that champions like Sona and Soraka have basically no counters since grevious wounds means nothing now and the mostly reverted durability patch has made reset/drain tanking champions and items the best things to choose.

Riftmaker and Deaths Dance on ANY champion makes them essentially invulnerable and other champions with things like Bloodthirster on top of it (windshitters) means you cant do anything after a certain point

It wasn't until MSI recently where Riot said no more Haunting Guise stacking, but that's what I basically do on Mel. Mels popular build is a dumb burn build, when it should be all CDR, same with Hwei.
I loved Tank Senna a couple years ago with BoRK -> Locket -> Tabis, and still play her as an Enchanter when her most popular build is AD when Enchanter is still her highest win rate build.

The reason junglers didnt decide 80% of games back then wasnt balancing it was the average jungler taking 8 minutes to do their 1st clear.
