Rune already had barely any flaws and they just patched up every single problem it could potentially have.

Sword is even or at worst slightly disfavored against AF Portal (straight up favored vs Puppets) and Haven. Hell its matchup vs Haven might actually improve since Ward Haven will be hesitant to run cum chalice due to board space and wanting their own board to stick.

Rune is just a boosted bitch deck, every class struggles vs spellboost because it's completely broken. Sword isn't unique in this.

It's actually insane that it's going to take one launch set and TWO expansions just to match the amount of cards SV1 had on launch

This is just not true. Eachtar was 7pp, which inherently makes him better, and he didn't cost any shadows to give the +2/0 buff, while Cerberus can sometimes fail to give the buff if you don't have 6 shadows, which makes it hard to run cards like Mukan.
Sure, Cerberus has some upsides to make up for that, but she isn't a literal better Eachtar, she's more of a sidegrade.
