Learn to pick your fights, don't hesitate to run away and don't reload unless you die, any fight you survive makes you stronger. Building an outpost will attract trader caravans and hostile raids. Building one too early might be more than you can handle. Pressing F1 will open the tutorial screen. Mousing over the stats screen and HUD will reveal useful tooltips and additional info. If the enemies feel too difficult - get crossbows for your units. And don't be afraid of the RP autism - engage in it whenever you can. And do unlock the sliders.

Chris only scratched the surface on this and those around him were incapable of carrying the idea forward. Most things about the game can be discarded, as like Chris did with thirst, because the core gameplay loop revolves around traveling to different places and having unique experiences. Overrides are the cornerstone of Kenshi - the rest of the game is essentially superfluous fluff, as modding shows, models, characters, factions, weapons, items, buildings, bases, all of it exists to highlight the capacity for change. It's an unfolding situation. The Okranites are hemmed in by their own superstitions and misplaced foreign policy priorities (the war in Bast should be a war of total destruction against the Shek). They're well accounted for without the West doing anything. So then the West engages with the empire by trying to beat it on comparative advantage and economies of scale. The empire has caught on rather quickly to what's happening but can't just make the problem go away. In-game the humanoid factions are unaware of and have no easy access to the Queens. The player is the first outsider we know of the find them.

I believe the South is in a stand down situation. They take what the empire refuses to - the southeastern wastelands. The imperial core doesn't have much choice. If they wait forever the human population of the island will wake up surrounded, outnumbered and too weakened by internal conflicts to stop the Hives from imposing upon them. People go on and on about how Kenshi is fucked, there's no hope for the future, blah blah - yeah, because the Hives are in position to pounce and nail the coffin closed on human civilization. Your defeatism is their triumph.

Long time ago I have made a skull study, and I can report that the scorchies are humans. Frontal lobe, nose, lips - direct comparison between them and the greenlanders. Look at the facial proportions by yourself when you boot the game. The scorchies are weirdly colored humans, not the creatures Chris surely sees very often in his beloved Bongistan.

Rimworld, released in 2013 originally, just had another DLC recently come out, Odyssey. 11 years later and still seeing updates and attention. It has seen five meaningful DLC updates over the years. The product is much better than it was at release.

Wartales, released in early 2023, has seen numerous DLCs and updates, albeit some of mixed quality & pricing. The studio maintains rolling polling to help direct new release (not a one-time no takesies backsies poll seven years ago).

Kenshi has seen no updates in years outside of some pointless QoL for helping the studio generate screenshots for twitter posts. One video stating they have placeholder Unreal assets and a game they can't show to the public after nearly seven years of full team development.

In brief. LITA as it's publicly available is a highly unfinished product. Not bad, no, it's rather that the creator has completely moved on to a separate instance of the project under the same name. From memory Un/holy fucking sweeps Samurai on equal stats like 9 times out of 10. The differences in priority coverage, resistances and damage reduction means the Holy plate lasts longer and gets staggered less which translates to extra attacks overall. The only reason you'd want Samurai over Holy is if you really need arm protection to keep your two handed weapon in the fight for longer, or because you think it looks cooler or have easier access to higher quality Samurai than Holy.

I felt the same, so I save-edited my 2.5 meters tall pirate giga-women so much - they became the apex predators in almost all missions. The Blitz armor makes sure they can catch rockets and gauss shots without any harm, and only lasers can hurt them somewhat. Giving them condemnations that restore HP TU and energy per turn is also fun - now they can't be stopped by normal enemies, and the elites are merely speed bumps against them.

I like x-piratez, it's my second favorite crack after Kenshi.

Depends on your characters.
Safest way to take a city is to do it slowly. Use crossbows to draw at gate guards and neutralize them with your forces. Then march your way carefully through the city before finally fighting the Inquisitor.

Internal killbox. HN often hop on their turrets which makes them annoying to fight in the open. Pick a house, something with enough room to spread out a little and then force as many 1v1s as you can. They are quick to down but in the open and fought as a group will result in a lot of splash damage going around and stray turret shots knocking down your lightly armored donuts.

The Blister Hill siege is all of that with two layers of turrets. You'll figure out quickly the HN's main strengths are AoE damage and surprising you early by quickly hopping on their defenses.

I have a decent gig going digging rocks in the Hub with my hiver henchmen and using that seed money to fund hash runs from Mud Town to Flats Lagoon. In other news I'm experimenting with prisoner cages. The two mods will work together with out crashing but "Female only Sheck" stops all factions from spawning Scheck and then adds them back directly in to the squads at 100% female spawn chance this makes it kind of incompatible withe Kaizo because it will override any squad size changes Kaizo makes and any new squads added by Kaizo won't have any Sheck in them
I tried to correct this by going through the squad list making sure all the squads that are supposed to have Sheck have them and checking all the Sheck only squads to make sure all of them are set to 100% female spawn chance
