There's some bonus freemium currency for newbies, rerolling means starting an account and using that to roll until you get favorable drops for a good start. Bad rolls? Go backto title, delete user data, and you'll be on another guest account again. It takes like 30 seconds to reroll, so really it's not hard at all.
There's a very important equip (Support Card) releasing tomorrow, so ideally you want to reroll for that, but I'd say you can play the game rn to get a feel for it, it's a raising sim/roguelite with hype races and cute writing

Stamina is self explanatory, it's your fuel and if you don't have any you horse can't do shit and their other stats are basically irrelevant.
Power controls how fast you accelerate which is critically important at the start and end of races. It has side benefits like letting you get through crowds blocking the path and such too.
Guts is a weird complex skill. It does a lot of little shit. The big thing it does is act as bonus stamina at the end of races, but in an insane diminishing returns way that means you should never be focusing on it all run right now. They will buff it twice in the future, until then you really shouldn't push it past 400 unless it's free with something else.
Wit controls pretty much everything else in the game. It's your movement speed before the final 3/4ths, but this has only a little impact. It's your ability to plan and move around to not get stuck in crowds and position yourself so you're running the most efficiently. It's controlling your % chance to activate most skills. It's what helps you avoid some debuff shit like Rushed. And training it gives you energy so there's no excuse never to train it. You want some but there's diminishing returns here, 300-600 is usually fine to shoot for if you can.

The actual speed that the horses run the race at before the final leg is preset based on the length of track, with longer ones being slower. Your uma constantly rolls wits checks and randomly goes a little faster or slower than they're "supposed" to based on their position relative to the distance from the front runner, or the track speed if they are the front runner. The higher your wit the higher speed you'll usually be going at.
If you go too far ahead of your intended position you'll drop back and save stamina in the process, usually settling in front of other horses using the same strategy as you, if you're too far behind then you'll burn stamina trying to catch up to your position.
Stamina drain is based on the actual speed you're going at, so a front runner with high wit and stamina can run faster than expected, force the rest of the pack to speed up constantly draining their stamina and leaving them unable to conserve enough to overtake the front runner. That's the actual strategy of front running.
This also leads to some very funny things like running a single terrible Haru Urara as front runner when there's no other front runners, it drags the pace to a crawl and messes up almost every skill relating to speed or acceleration, this does eventually get patched on jp

Front Runner strategy is generally to focus on SPD and maybe STM to close out a race before the End/Late surgers can catch up.
End Closer strategy is to focus on PWR and STM so you can use the surge of speed you get to fight your way to the top and overtake the Front Runner before the race ends.

Not only is your horse going to be useless for PvP, you want at least 600 stamina to try and get 3* stam sparks, which are crucial for building good medium/long track runers. Max speed/power/wit bakushin runs at this point is just burning your TP for no reason except to farm fans
