I see everyone praising this guy, and while I like his design, and he is admittedly easier than a lot of other bosses, I don't see him deserving all the praise he's getting.
Maybe it's just because I'm playing at a range, but it seems like he's designed to catch you off guard with every move, and sometimes stagger chaining/preventing healing/mana pot usage completely with relentless combos and constant gap closes.

i hated so much carrying this revenant
1 i wanted to play revenant but i switched since he wouldn't
2 i dropped her a 18% on charged incantations and she didnt pick it up
3 she dropped a purple seal with lightning incantations for recluse instead of using it herself
and then she fought the boss in melee with dragon king's cragblade, which i checked and it did 142 damage per hit
the usual subhuman chink, got carried extremely hard by me and recluse

that said, lets look at your example
recluse does 100 spell damage, therefore duchess does 90
duchess then restages 60% of her 90 for an additional 54, then 60% of other peoples 100 for another 120
duchess has done 90+54+120 = 264 in that short time
she will continue to do 90 and eventually hit that 264 burst again in about 10 seconds
if you get a hit every 2 seconds for sake of this example (generous), you would arrive at
raider 500 recluse 500 duchess 450
except duchess did 54+120 twice, 174*2 = 348
450 + 348 = 798
that is how her damage works but it's actually much more dramatic because raider is a lower damage character and restaging somebody like rev, ironeye, or executor is ridiculous

Just fought Heolstor. Our Ironeye died almost immediately and he was at 3 bars right from the start, I had no idea this could happen. Anyway, he spent 90% of the fight dead, and we managed to beat him with just a 2 of us quite smoothly, so that was cool.

The buff that actually matters is the 10% buff you get for having the pumpkin head summon active, the other 2 summon buffs are irrelevant, a tiny hp regen buff on one and I've forgotten what the other buff even is.
There is a relic that makes you ult buff your summons and nearby allies giving them a 30% dmg buff which is massive, however Rev herself does not get the buff.
Rev is a bit risky, you stack incant buffs on items and pray you find an incant that's actually useful against the nightlord.
Buy 2 starlight shards from the vendor during day 1/2 and you can but another 2 from the vendor just before the nightlord, that's not including any starshards you find in churches.

fulghor's third phase shouldve had a reason to use a lightning weapon. he no longer does his cast so whats the point? yeah it does 20% more damage but if you have a non-lightning weapon thats more powerful than that anyway just use that. i guess you could say adel isnt exactly weak to poison either but its still a good option since he is constantly out of range or doing the tornado. i like the rhthym of the fulghor fight but the only thing really dangerous in his third phase is his flurry attack if you cant get behind it. the big arrow shot is pretty easy to dodge once you have it downloaded plus you can just negate it with one of the 2 physicks
