P5 villains are just written differently, they're not meant to be redeemable or have some deep motive. They're just bad people, which is fine because sometimes in real life people just do horrible shit without some complex backstory fueling it. Yeah I think Kiuchi was very close to being a good villain, a pretty contemporary Japanese villain too being a guy with big dreams and a bright future ending up in a soul-draining salaryman job. The inciting incident for his fall from grace was just a little contrived and hard to believe. Sucks the writer for the first two palaces got canned, he was kinda cooking and just needed the room to make mistakes and improve.

I don't think they had to do that, it's not like Shun was the major cause of Miyazawa's descent but he still had a connection to him anyway. I can see a world where the main reason Kiuchi's career flopped was just an actual injury that caused him to miss some vital scouting event or something, so to try salvaging it he tried doing some stuff for good PR and then the whole Motoha thing happens and it's just the straw that breaks the camel's back rather than the actual inciting incident. There's lots of ways for Kiuchi to land really well while still connecting Motoha to him that would read better than a guy crashing out for several months straight because he got btfo by a child at a charity event.

I got the very strong impression that the womanizing and hedonism came after he felt like his career was spiraling after the Motoha incident. Was there some indication that his career was trending downwards prior to the Motoha thing? I seem to recall the whole thing being that he was bound for the majors until that point and then it was downhill from there; he was on the cusp of greatness and seethed over Motoha ruining it for him, then got paranoid over the escort selling him out to the press which fueled his misogyny. Yeah, the video segments occur very far apart and Palace 1 is already fuckhuge as it is so you might have lost track in between finding balls and solving puzzles. I think the core of it works, they just needed to work the misogyny angle into it better because it all seemed really backloaded. There's kind of a contrast between Shun and Miyazawa as well, with pride being more of a theme. Miyazawa abandoned his pride as an actor, sucking up to executives and eventually becoming a food critic lashing out at chefs with genuine pride because their pride reminded him of what he threw away. Shun contrasts that because he never let go of his pride of his craft despite everything going wrong.
Dunno how the other arcs will be, but I'm assuming they'll continue that pattern.

In addition to anon's points. Not only are they not providing ANY increase in gem income for the acceleration, they've actually removed sources of it, and in other places made the gems much more difficult to obtain, and impossible to get as early as you would in CN.
The redemption code feature, which is heavily used in older regions, is unused, and even gone in some versions for global. Mailbox maintenance for patches has been reduced. Challenge content and synergies (social links) have had their gem rewards heavily moved towards the back, which require a lot more time and character investment to obtain.

There is no challenge, the trials are just checking what units you have since wonder's damage doesn't count. There is another change where if you start an AOA with Wonder on the Global version it doesn't count towards the point multiplier unlike the Chinese versions, but I'm not sure if this was something that was added later on as an update.

In the older servers as long as you used an effective skill, you got the bonus points, in Global, the character TYPE has to match properly.
So against electric weak enemies, Ryuji's lightning doesn't give any bonus points.
That alongside half the weaknesses being removed means you aren't actually getting a more challenging fight, you're just getting a fight where they say "pay up piggy" and expect you to have mono element teams for every element.
That alongside all the levels being slightly harder (+5 levels) + needing more points and it's obvious what they want.

I'd have no problem with this if you could actually build around the new challenge, but it's literally just a way to force you to pay up.

Get to lvl 50 anon. Went from wiping 8 times (last time lost because of 120 turn limit) to wiping the floor with the guy at 60-70 turns and I had two healers just in case.

Level your cards just in case if you wanna be save, lvl 5-10 should be enough.
