Is it just me or are melees (including Welkin) completely useless at killing air units? He can be avoided by pressing one button on most mechs, he can only kill mechs that are out of energy. Melee felt more viable in beta. You get 1 hit on a mosquito and then you are out of energy. You may get another one hit with the rape box if the enemy doesn't dodge it.

Getting 1 million adjusted damage and 16 assist is actually so hard, I was going crazy and I still only did 960k and 13 assists. Skyraider doesn't need anything. There's only 2 scenarios you want to actually use the uncharged shots and they both don't require you to spam them. Either you're killing the mooks that spawn on the objective in extractor dismantling or you're doing a charged shot and basic to finish someone off. If you miss the kill in the latter case you don't want to be spamming your shots since they're going to be evading and you can hold the charged shot to guarantee the kill after they either fuck up or run out of energy evading.

skyraider has a really strict niche and is overshadowed by falcon in anything other than hitting stationary targets. Simply speeding up the uncharged fire rate especially in ground mode wouldn't change much other than make skyraider a bit more comfortable to play and less overshadowed by falcon

did you even read what I wrote? Buffing skyraider's uncharged shot wouldn't change the mech's purpose, it would just make it more playable outside that. As it is now, there's no reason to play skyraider over falcon unless you're specifically countering a tank, the point is that making skyraider less crippled outside that niche would reduce skyraider's weaknesses but not make it more powerful within its strengths. It means better overall balance between skyraider and falcon.

That is exactly what you mean when you say that Falcon overshadows Skyraider when not bombing specifically tanks. The specific niche Skyraider has isn't even specific, it's actually incredibly common considering every game mode congregates people in key areas repeatedly, which is where Skyraider shines the most. Falcon's not only less versatile, it's also largely a more selfish and worse pick for the team and I think you're severely undervaluing the tools Skyraider has, which is bizarre because it is an incredibly strong mech. Skyraider's uncharged shot serves its purpose perfectly well, and buffing it doesn't really accomplish anything but incentivizing spamming it when it's objectively a worse choice compared to using charged shots in almost every scenario.

The inventory and mod UI seriously needs some better filters in general.

Yeah, no I’m done. If I keep going, I’ll just keep shitting up the thread with non-stop ranting about the horrible state of the game. The balance is a complete joke. People initially underestimated how bad it was only because they were unknowingly fighting bots. But once you climb past 5000, it becomes obvious that the entire meta revolves around Welkin. Aquila’s a problem too, sure, but having a Welkin is straight-up superior. And you safely go AFK if both are on the enemy team, you’re not winning unless they’re complete lobotomized retards.

What finally broke me wasn’t just how long Welkin’s cage lasts - longer than it takes to cap a point - but the fact that his shield too blocks enemy attemps to cancel captures, something Tricera and especially Stego actually need and not Welkin. The entire game has devolved into a Welkin-slop-fest, and I genuinely can’t take it anymore.

No self-respecting Japanese esports player is going to look at Welkin and the specefic two issues I highlited above and think the game still has competitive integrity. Queue times are getting longer, and I’m convinced it’s because only Welkin and Aquila mains are sticking around. Any off-meta picks are likely just Welkin and Aquila players stuck with locked characters and some pathetic bystander unironically maining something other than those two. The devs refusing to nerf them says it all: this shit is here to stay for at least another two and a half months, and I’m simply not willing to wait it out.

Once again, /v/ and Steam reviews were right, and I was wrong. I defended this game when the writing was on the wall all the way back in the beta. I’m deleting my old positive review (1.9 hours) and leaving a negative one (75 hours), because that’s what this game actually deserves.

And once again, I dodged a bullet free-2-playing this pile of shit.
