It, as many other live service games, should not have been such after more than 3 years.
A game gets 3 years of full support (new characters, innovative ideas, etc), 5 years of bugfixes(Killer shadows showing their actual anims and not the outstretched weapon arm) and 2 years of nostalgia(some outside character DLC). After which the game should become as open as possible, maximum mod support.
Yet because DbD is BHVR's cash cow, there were more characters added after 3 years. Even now we have nostalgiabait even though the game is still in "full" support.
It's a shame what the need for money does to companies that used to be fun.

It's been stated in every dead space game that those smart enough see symbols and codes of a puzzle from the markers where those who aren't just end up going insane from the information overload, like Ross in dead space 2. Ellie is also shown to have a similar resistance like Isaac. However smart people aren't exactly immune they can still end up just losing it and killing themselves they just have a higher tolerance, Isaac can end up killing himself during a cutscene but if you succeed it's shown that he's the one holding the needle he nearly stabbed himself in the eye with. Isaac also 'built' the marker in 2 with the copy inside his brain, and is shown understanding the symbols and writing in 3. He ends up being the one understanding the marker's master plan for convergence and understanding the alien's machine and how they basically froze the planet to keep the moons from finding them via the convergence event.

tldr: Issac's intelligence played a big part but his willpower and tenacity helped him keep going. Fuck EA.

Right. As in the Marker literally imprinted all this info on his brain. He didn’t like look at them and then just gain an intuitive understanding of how it worked and what it was doing and how to make them. It wanted him/others to make another Marker so it could trigger Convergence once it also killed Isaac, which was inevitable because it’s essentially one giant lure with a “free sustainable energy here” sign all over it to prey on civilizations that haven’t figured out post scarcity yet. It was miserable as a solo q player and even as killer it got boring really quickly due to either pub stomping everyone or facing off against some strange comp squads. I always saw it as basically a consciousness being born in him, his first thoughts weren't immediately "KILL ALL HUMANS", he feared being found out as defective and only killed people because he saw it as his only way out- the fact that his add-ons, which are usually strong emotional triggers for killers, tend to be mostly about gabriel does paint the picture of him having it out specifically for gabriel, but a lot of them also seem to be from a sympathetic angle, pointing out how sad it is that the clones live completely fabricated lives. I like to imagine that, somehow, he pities gabriel as much as he hates him, and knows that if things went differently their fates were the same as one another, just soulless tools
obviously he's way too far gone at this point to have much sympathy left in him, and it's a fool's errand to claim he's a good person when he's one of the most vocal killers and he makes it no secret what's on his mind. other killers like wraith you could argue don't want any part of the trial but hux says some very disturbing shit that makes it very clear he's at least partially enjoying it. Vigil currently gets rid of statuses 40% faster. As a fun fact, vigil used to increase your recovery speed by 30% (1.3 c/s) which was roughly 23% faster.

However when BHVR buffed the perk they changed the value to 1.66 c/s , which is a 2.2x buff. (66% recovery speed)
