Tile modifiers and unique guns are probably my favourite part of the dlc after a hundred or so hours. Gravship is definitely fun but it's way too easy to get for how overpowered it is.

Anyone with any experience can do a tribal start and have electricity and guns within the first year, and be building a gravship by the second. Which makes tribal start redundant as fuck.
If you get the progression mods including the semi-random research, it drastically slows down your progress. You will have to learn to make the most of using sharp sticks and bows and your first winter or two you will not have freezers and infinite food stocked up so you'll probably need to be making pemmican throughout the year to survive.
It will make you appreciate unlocking new technology a lot more since you cannot just rush research.
The only downside is Rimworld isn't made for this kind of playthrough and none of the mods make it that viable either. There just isn't really enough primitive themed content to make staying in those stages of the game entertaining for very long. It's just not fleshed out even with all the mods in the world.

Destroyed the mech hive. Was a nice ending but I think the late game is pretty stale as always, sooner or later you're sitting around waiting for your marine/cataphract armors to be finished. Shuttle helps with the resources a ton thoughbeit and being able to fuck off with your ship is cool, fuck shambler assaults. I'd like some Anomaly integration so wreckages and lost space stations could have some entities there instead of hunter drones and sentries or human scavengers. Don't think I can go back to 1.5 even if most of my favorite RJW mods aren't updated yet.

Every DLC since Biotech and every time ive come back to the game in between, I always go back to solo Mechanitor colonies. I havent even finished my first Odyssey colony yet and im already feeling the itch. Command range and bandwidth is also annoyingly restrictive and you have to trigger extra raids by getting rid of your pollution. Wastepack management really isnt that big of a deal unless you make your base in a desert with no mountains but it can still be a hassle. I use some mods that have a side effect of making it even easier, like Mechanoid Spots. I saw a mod that makes it so small mech chargers dont generate wastepacks at all and that seems like a nice middle ground.
There are mods like Mechanoid Upgrades that let you personalize them a lot too. Other than that I like using an android mod to make my own colonists.
Then there are multiple mods that let you build relay towers for command range, make mechanoids that are moving relay towers or get implants that improve your range and bandwidth too.
