Unless I'm very bad at math, if it's 7 or so drops from Encore, at 15 min runs at only +4 gains and you assume there's going to be dupes, basically non stop no beat skipped etc, that's kind of absurd amount of time it takes to get to the 2,3,400 benchmark and that doesn't factor in things will get longer on higher difficulty to be more efficient. Unless everybody's fucking up, I'm lost that this is actually the only really viable efficient grind. Even power leveling in week 1 of a new expansion never took this long and you had limitations of sources of loot back then as well. This trade off sucks weiner

From the second I saw weapon crafting in the witch queen leaks I knew it was going to be Pandora’s box, once it’s open it will never be able to be closed again.
Well I was right, they tried to close it and now nobody likes the tedious “tiered weapons” grind that makes getting a god roll that much harder and time consuming.
Really they should have from the beginning made crafting available for all weapons but it’s only for barrels and magazines. The regular perks and masterworks are random so there is still a chase for the rolls but having your roll be a 4/5 because of a bad magazine or barrel option is alleviated

Drifter and Eris are absolutely the worst offenders. I think Drifter might be the worst, because he's actually a character that has relatively a lot of decent, mysterious stuff. An engine is just the frame and foundation of a house. It tells you where you can put wires and stuff, but you don't need to tear the whole thing down just to put in a few new outlets and update your wiring.

The campaign is too long, there are too many side missions, I can't do endgame build crafting out of the gate! Then I realized a lot of destiny streamers were literally staying up to 4:00 AM on day one playing that shit and I knew they were not going to be able to process that shit properly for another full week. I'd have to play it myself to get a good review or wait another two weeks for the good reviewers to remember Destiny dropped a DLC yet again. Turns out I was right. The DLC was a resounding OK (so far)! All this and the sky continues to spin oh so slowly above us. Waiting. Watching. Gooning rain all over us. Also I got the whole year for like $30 off so It hardly broke the entertainment budget. The bugs are fucking unforgivable tho. I really liked the story, Lodi has got to be one of my fav characters introduced in the past 5 years. He just feels so real as a guy who got ripped from his timeline and is getting his mind ripped asunder.

I will not grind without a reason that I choose to do so.
As soon as you tell me to go play the same unfun mission for 3 hours a day, I will just not play the game.
I played Encore 3 times because I wanted to see the story. Once I had the end of the story, it was a shitfest.
I played Kell's Fall because I wanted Slayer's Fang. Once I had it, and was told I had to run the mission 4 more times for the intrinsics, I dropped the game until Heresy came out.
I played Heresy until I had the guns I wanted from it, then I stopped playing until EoF.
When EoF released, I played the intro story mission, but it was boring, and there is no other content I want to play, so I didn't.

Moreover I think I've realized what I think the issue about getting new and returning people back in is. In both D1 and D2 until vaulting, there was a a set path that would guide you into the main sort of postgame loop of grinding for armour and weapon rolls, and if you weren't fucking with it that's when you'd stop playing. If you found it fun, you'd keep playing and would be happy with that. Now though, Bungie wants you to get to that loop ASAP, which if you're still active is just a race against getting burnt out after YEARS which I think is why you see people calling for either a D3 as a complete refresh or changes to the loot that'll have them playing it as little as possible. If you are new though, there's literally nothing else for you because even campaigns that used to serve as part of those guides into the postgame grind are just also now part of the grind.

Hypothetically, the stat changes are actually really good, redistributing a lot of stat power and giving build flexibility. The main issues are in execution:

I think it would've been better to push the stat conversion BEFORE Armor 3.0, to give everyone time to adjust. Now, most people are basically forced to go into the raid with old armor, because new drops are way weaker if you can't touch T4.

Why the FUCK is a KMMO, which are famous for being turbo-grindy, even able to get a favorable comparison to Destiny's grind? Bungie's devs need to reevaluate everything they've done with Edge of Fate and the power grind as a whole.
