Not really. She's good but if a group of enemy has both light and fire weaknesses, then Oriko is the better option. Against bosses with adds, she performs better than Kyouko at lower ascensions but she really needs a party built around her lack of MP and speed. Her EX crystalis is also bad, so that doesn't help.

Sayaka is pretty much the best defender. Lux Madoka is a freebie who isn't that good but can be enough to complete all of the story content at its hardest difficulty (paired with a couple 4* breakers). Oriko is only good for groups of enemies but she'll be enough until you get to Nightmare, where she won't be as useful against bosses.

It's good to do your 5 pvp matches everyday, whether you win or lose, to get tokens for the orbs, books and paint in the monthly shop. If you don't rank high, you're not missing out on much. You should have more than enough to buy everything you can't farm in enhancement quests from the shop every month.

It's pretty pointless. It's forced on auto, meaning you have to build your team with the stupid AI in mind. Felicia is everywhere in the upper regions of the rankings (especially now since people could get her from the selector), and unless you have the exodia team that can just break and kill the opp before she even gets to act, you WILL have to deal with her stun which adds quite a lot of rng to every single battle.
But at the same time, the rewards are a complete meme and going for top rankings is incrediblely unrewarding when you can get almost the same rewards from just using your attempts against unleveled shitter teams all season.
It's very disappointing for people who would like to play actual pvp, but in a way it's kind of nice you really don't need to stress out over it.

on my phone a few months ago i got homura as my starter 5* and oriko shortly after and that trivialized the game's difficulty for most of the early stages.

this time i got kyoko as my starter and the game is way harder than it was then. even oriko made a big difference, i haven't been able to get her either.

i didn't realize how much of a difference that first 5* makes. i've so far only been able to get alina and ren, but without one of the better 5* attackers i do way less damage and the game is actually more difficult and takes a lot longer.

Here's what my party looked like when the game launched and I played through Standard, Battler and more than half of Nightmare. Having a 5* attacker only matters once you get to Nightmare Artist Witch imo, and any ST 5* attacker will do.
I haven't seen your party but if you're struggling it might be because of your magic levels. Ren and Alina should stomp Standard, Battler and early Nightmare. I don't think you'll have any wall until either Nightmare Walpurgis or Nightmare Needle Witch using Kyouko.

I agree with you but I can also understand why they put it at mid priority. At A4 she gets a turn the moment break bonus is maxed so she doesn't need that extra speed, while S ranks can give her 20% crit damage, 20% elemental damage and 25% ATK. She can also get up to 15% crit rate from substats. With the crit from her S1, magic levels and Tsuruno she should be above 70% crit rate (might be wrong, would need to double check). Add Doppel Iroha, Sana or some future crit buffing meguca to the mix and her EX would feel superfluous.
I'm still using her EX right now but it is gonna be replaced the moment I have her at A4.
I think Yacchan's party members having crit rate substats actually enable her kit more than her own EX by giving her 5MP at every crit.

All banners share the same general pool except for new releases and limited banner units.

So you could feasibly pull Madoka and Homura on any of them, but swimsuit Mami is only available in her select banner since she's limited. Pull that one if you want to prioritize having a rare unit. (Not sure personally if she's meta yet)

She's "meta" simply because there is no other 5* forest attacker right now. Still, we've managed well so far without her and she's only particularly useful right now for score attack and layer 50 of Tower.
From a single target attacker standpoint, her overall damage is very good and comparable to Homura and Ultimate Madoka even if slightly lower. She synergises well with Nemu though which makes it up.
She's not a must pull but she is one of the few limited kiokus and that gauge makes it worth pulling for if you're not going for Madoka and Sayaka in a couple weeks.

No, it's a spark system which means you get medals specific to a banner which you can use to buy a copy of the character for 200 medals. Unlike chink games however rates aren't garbage, limited characters are sparser (swimsuit mami is the 2nd one, swimsuit madoka and sayaka will be 3rd and 4th in 2 weeks) and standard characters are added to the standard pool at the end of the month their banner ends on.

For new players:
Once you unlock events, go for the leftmost event and clear it daily to buy a gold medal you can use to pick a 5* out of Sana, Yachiyo, Tsuruno, Iroha and Felicia after 10 days.
If you don't have a 5* defender, get Sana. If you have a defender but don't have a 5* breaker other than Lux Madoka, get Iroha. If you have both, get Tsuruno or Felicia.
For other events, focus on grabbing the event portrait first for bonus medals. In the summer event, there's also a score attack. You can farm score by repeating the hardest rank you can auto and get a bunch of rewards, including event medals for the summer event. This should help you get orbs early on to raise your magic levels.
I recommend getting the archive ticket after the portraits. You can use it to unlock the Memories of You Part 2 event in the archive which you can farm for a lot of archive medals. In archived events, you're limited to 5 runs for all of the events, instead of 5 per event for current events.
If you have trouble clearing an event quest with bonus characters, you can clear it with your usual party then use the bonus characters to skip the highest quest you can clear to farm medals.

For the other 2 crystalis you can go with " Healing++ Increases HP recovery amount by 20%." and "Mana Infusion++ Increases MP recovery rate by 10%." or even just "Quickstep++ Increases SPD by 8." if you feel like it.

my other two are kirika and madokami.

kirika's is disappointing. rena's is good. but madokami's is amazing.

Sis, it might sound good but it's actually worse than 25% ATK, 20% dark damage or 24% weakness damage. This is coming from someone who got her EX twice.
Advancing turn order might help ever with SP generation against multiple enemies but against single bosses, 20% action order is pretty useless. The follow-up attack DMG dealt isn't that high to begin with, 40% is negligible when you can increase all of her damage, especially her special's which is very high, by 20%, 24% or 25%.

It depends on your other 5 stars but you don't "need" anything. You can manage all story content and most of Tower (up to its latest layer, 50) without Pluvia Madoka. You do need Alina or Tsukuyo instead for layer 40 though.
I'd worry about all of that once you actually get there, continue progressing through the game for now and worry about the hardest content when you get there.
