Everyone should be pro DoF, at least for taking screenshots. The main reason is that it gives your screenshots depth (crazy, I know) and all cameras have DoF by default, but it's variable depending on the lens size and things I'm not aware of.

The pretentious reason is to make the subject of your screenshot clear. For example: Is it a character screenshot? Then make your character clear and the background blurry. For landscapes, it's best to leave it off at that point since the shot will be wide and wide lenses don't have strong blur. Now you could ignore all of this and be wild but DoF is based on reality believe it or not, so you'll risk taking unnatural looking shots. Assuming you care about any of this in the first place.
