As long as HBR remains adamant about needing dupes for endgame, you'd be an absolute idiot to pull SS+. They'll be the biggest flops.
The only way they can fix this is if SS+ will come with 20 shards for themselves on rate up, regardless of if you have them already or not. Aka pull once: LB2, pull twice: LB3 and pull three times: LB4. But ONLY on rate-up.

When everyone has +50%, having +30% means you're behind by 13%. Normal skill attack is one of the most common buffs in the game, that's what they give to the SS1s they don't want to actually buff.

It's hard to use your attacker as a battery because you don't want to waste single use buffs. By the time turn based single cast buffs come around it's already too late for her, because of the second important distinction. You can see from the Kura above, that the cap for her SP recovery is 30, as is the standard now. Misarin's is still 20 because she was buffed earlier, but this combined with needing to be in OD makes it effectively unusable. If your buffers are high sp, they don't get the sp recovery. If they use their sp to cast buffs, you don't want to waste your buffs just to recover SP. If you OD2/3, you likely already have over 20 SP and getting ready to burst. Kura was actually pretty good to use prior to the nerfs, She still is after, but it's just sad how her field got desecrated.

You're slightly wrong. Hit count doesn't matter for the total devastation, unless some of your hits don't break DP or hit HP. To calculate devastation, you just multiply the move's DR rate with the enemy's DR rate. Devastation rate is distributed evenly between the move's hits so only the hits that break the enemy's DP or hit HP add to the devastation rate. Funnels are calculated separately, but copies the move's DR rate for their devastation rate increase and hit distribution.

Yes, exactly. Yuina does get an event S that has a equippable passive skill that raises her DR rate by 15% if you have room for it. You could get away with just using her EX twice since it'll raise the final devastation to 400.2% and gather the final 100% from regular attacks and other skills.

This isn't up for debate. You do NOT nerf styles. That's the one and biggest no go in the gacha world. People will get their money back, whatever they can at least, and make sure to never spend any money again. (well, they are going to be banned anyways)
The question is just how they will react, because this exodus isn't happening over night. And it's not like HBR/WFS never did extremely retarded shit before.

I know I will never spend on HBR ever again, unless they make the entire thing acceptable, which is not actually likely. And while I'm not a whale, over the good 3 years I've played the game, I definitely spent a good chunk of money on it. (well into 6 digits in yen) I just see absolutely no point in supporting the game anymore with what's currently going on. A lot of things I pulled for, and like, are just so much worse. Also, the new pseudo-SSR memoria can't be LB'd with the usual gold shards or the gauge. They will require a new rainbow shards that you can only get by rolling extra copies. Let's just say my Bungo LB4 max level dealt about 50 million damage vs. SA. Then I gave her a daphne, a maxed out soul (+25 stats) and +20 rebirth (from +1), and now she deals 100m.

This is vs. 999% DR, and barely gets 2.3 million score. Considering scoring isn't changed with lower DR, there's absolutely 0 ways to get even remotely this much of a score once less DR is coming around. So you WILL need the absolute best elemental teams with lb4 DPS + daphne + maxed out soul + 20 rebirth (this will be hard due to this shit being extremely limited, especially the rebirth).

But not like it matters. Everyone sane will quit if they don't fix the damage anyways. I sure will. This is the basic requirement I have to keep on playing. Fix. The. Damage.
Just to put this into perspective. In a typical light team self mind eye buffers like Kanade or Monaka have that damage buff effect reduced by over 80%!!!! This team is pretty rough, but you can easily dump your LB0 Ichigo and just use your LB2 Byakko as your attacker. Do you really have no better fragile applier than Kozue? 14 SP for nothing but fragile is just tragic, even if it's one of the coolest looking styles in the game. Do note you can just use thunderbane orbs for thunder def down.

You'll also need a fielder... Megumi SS5 with SS2 common skill would solve both problems at once, but I imagine you'd be using Megumi SS2 already if you had her.

Byakko is amazing, and her dps is strong, but I think with the latest jp changes, the +50% hp damage multiplier (which is applied to the final damage) would be quite strong. I'd wait for things to shake out before making any decisions based on the current JP changes. If you were deciding based on that mess, then you'd really want Aoi SS2 anyway because of her tokens (+160% damage, one of the few things still multiplicative) and single stat scaling (helps punch through the absurd border of new SA). Thunder crit damage would also become more important than a fielder (as crit damage is still its own multiplier). But this could change easily if WFS nerfs more things, or grows a brain and walks back some/all of the changes.

Sharo SS2 arrives as the first Weakness Overwriter in Global. She has the ability to render any enemy weak to Thunder and lower their Thunder resistance. This allows Thunder parties to be brought to most content. This is extremely strong and allows you to focus your attention on one element. There are some situations where you cannot use an Overwriter, but for the most part, you can consider Sharo SS2 a solution unit. Of course, we already have Critical Penetration in Global with Inori SS2, so Sharo SS2's arrival is not quite as impactful if you have already committed to using Inori SS2. Still, those committed Aoi SS2 fans will find Sharo SS2 to be a linchpin to your success in battle for the foreseeable future. If you love to play Thunder, Sharo SS2 is the single most important unit in the entire game's roster, so you would do well to pull her.

Maria SS2 is a very strong AOE Thunder Healer Attacker who, like her SS1, scales off of Totems to do significant damage. If you happen to pull both Sharo SS2 and Maria SS2, you will find yourself with a worthy duo who can carry you for most content. If you really need an AOE Thunder unit to compliment your Aoi SS2 for AOE content, well frankly, you can just use Sharo SS2, who's damage potential actually isn't terrible.

And in case you're wondering, in my opinion, neither of these units have seen their value decrease with the recent JP changes. Actually, being able to lower Elemental Resistance seems to have become even more valuable. However, a recent JP Score Attack rule introduced the first time that Weakness Overwrite was rendered unusable, which DOES decrease the value of every Weakness Overwriter. It has yet to be seen how common this rule will become.

Should You Tenne SS3 / Bungo SS3?

Spender: Maybe, if you are committed to Light

Tenne SS3 is one of the coolest and best-designed elemental Debuffers in the game, able to put out 2 stacks of high-value ST Light Def Down, ST Def Down, and ST Exposed in only 2 turns for minimal SP. But we have access to buffed Amon Orbs, which deal elemental Def Down (though AOE potency), so there are many flexible options these days for fully Debuffing an enemy, including upcoming Isuzu SS3. Light is also not very strong right now (though still viable), as it awaits better supporters in the future with Yuina SS5 and overwriter Ichiko SS3.

Bungo SS3 is bad but cute (but bad). She is an AOE Thunder Breaker who can remove 3 Buffs from an enemy. But we have access to buffed Weakening Orbs which also remove Buffs from enemies, and her damage potential is not great. Still, she is unique in that she is the only one of two units who can remove Buffs in an AOE situation, the other being Yuki SS5. She is also unique in that she is the only unit who can give an enemy a Buff.

Overall, this is not a banner worth pulling for right now, but if you find yourself with a spark from the Sharo SS2 banner, and you also play Light, you may want to pick up Tenne SS3.

There's already a mechanic in the game now that even prevents crit pierce to deal damage. The current SA, which is basically just a stronger version of the chapter 2 boss, actually can't be damage by crit pierce outside of its "open" phase.
