Yeah, most of the time when it's implemented it's just sprint past the guards to your gear/the exit, if they spot you there's a scene and you're sent back to the start, all of which either takes 15 seconds or way too long depending on guard placement and sensitivity. Either way it just feels like a regular scene with some inconvenience thrown in. The ideal version, in my opinion, is a multi-day segment that goes back and forth between events and escaping at lest a couple times to really sell that you've been captured and need to work to escape. Something like this for example if you're captured by bandits:
>Day 1: Forced to be a maid. Night 1: Figure out how to get out of your cell.
>Day 2: Forced to be a dancer. Night 2: Recon and gather tools you need; key, rope, etc.
>Day 3: Forced relief service. Night 3: Escape
Captured companions can be much simpler, but I'm a big fan of when you have a 5-person team where one of them is captured at the start every new area. It lets you cut to them every now and then and encourages you to mix up gameplay since you'll always be missing at least one party member you're used to.
