you misunderstand. Having that much damage reduction is good yes, but it doesnt really have a point in existing when you just outclash and win to take no damage at all. IF youre in a scenario where you have this tank stats and she is being targetted by a big dick attack you cant outclash you figure that using her guard would be the intended play pattern since even the lost clash gives a little bit of shield, which combined with the damage reduction, makes her take very little hp damage.

However using her counter in negative coin mode further accelerates her into DPS mode, and you want a clashable counter because its more damage and thus benefits that playstyle.

Essentially its weird that the guard is just a switch to flip into DPS mode rather than accelerating her tank mode playstyle and being something you would want to use. So instead the only time that damage reduction comes into play is if you get fucked by all S1s vs a big dick attack.
