Why were anons shitting on the Quasar last thread? I'm level 60 and almost only play D10 bots and I bring the quasar every time (maybe except in extreme heat, then I bring recoilless).
It's great. It can deal with every common bot enemy in a single hit, it can one shot the new mechs and can deal with the tanks and striders. Same on bugs, it deals with everything easily.
I don't play squids because they are buggy and there is no mission variety.

It's a good weapon.

You cannot use real world logic on a fantasy setting to estabilish a set of common practices. You have to document the fact that the door isn't reinforced, this is the only way you can debunk Alexus.

Yeah, I only got the game a few weeks ago and have been addicted to it. At first I thought D10 was impossibly hard but by now its not really too much of a challenge. Do they have any plans to make higher difficulties than Super Helldive?

Also, another reason I love the quasar more than the RR is that you can use a jump pack with it. The jump pack is incredible against bots especially for jumping over walls and avoiding flamethrowers et cetera.

From a gameplay mechanics point of view, it makes some sense that they didn't want the original plasma weapons like the scorcher or plasma punisher to have demo force utility. It can be argued that their ammo supply is so high that it would trivialize closing spawners and eclipse other primary weapons. This logic still holds with the loyalist/purifier. For whatever reason they deviated from the "primary/secondary weapons shouldn't have demo utility" with xbow/eruptor. Perhaps because they're unwieldy in their own way.

But plasma weapons lacking demo force stops making sense once you scale it up to an anti-tank support weapon.

The warp pack is simply the most powerful backpack in the game by far. It is the ATE of backpacks.
It provides consistent, insane mobility in both high intensity situations and just walking from point A to point B, it basically negates the mobility penalties of heavy armor, it completely discombobulates the AI. There is no way it's not getting nerfed in some way.

Keep in mind it does ALL of these things on all fronts without thought. I don't bring it all the time because I typically have my build around whatever I need and I tend to take more niche strategems. But 500 is basically the best work horse strategem that can do everything and be good in any loadout.

All bots should have a 0% chance to hit you when they first engage you, their chance to hit rising to 100% the longer you stay within line of sight. If you exit line of sight their chance to hit should slowly deteriorate back to 0%.
High chance to hit could be indicated by a subtle glow applied to the weapon muzzle aiming at you.
This should actually be how all ranged enemies in the game work, especially the leviathan.

The thing is that the RR can do both of those with more ammo to spare, as well as technically being able to do so from even further than the Spear due to the Spear's limited range. Not to mention that the Spear also isn't as good as the RR for closer ranged combat.

The factory strider has a fuckhuge "main HP pool", and damage to any of its components transfers a percentage of its damage to the main HP. The strider has a variety of subcomponents with their own smaller HP pools that immediately kill the FS when destroyed. These subcomponents generally are enshrouded by armor plating. Destroying the armor plating makes these components more exposed.

The RR generally wants to target the head, which is most commonly refered to as the "eye" because the area around the eye is the largest hole in the armored helmet around the head. Other AT weapons generally want to target the foot with 2 attacks since it's fairly big and doesn't move much.

The commando is a good FS deleter since you can call it down and just send all 4 rounds into the eye or foot depending on whichever you have the cleanest shot against.

In terms of TOTAL ammo, I think ~15 rounds is justified for a backpackless weapon capable of killing heavies. If we vaguely abstract the killing power of the epoch to needing 2 rounds to kill a heavy where a RR needs 1, then the epoch slightly pulls ahead in that the RR can kill 6 heavies with its ammo supply while the epoch can kill 7 and a half. Someone can potentially even argue that the epoch currently has slightly too much ammo, but I think the current overall max capacity is acceptable considering the myriad of drawbacks that the weapon has and the fact that any preemptive reloads drastically cuts into total ammo supply.

If I were to change things, I would decrease the number of spare magazines that the epoch has but increase the capacity of the magazines. This would give the weapon greater ability to more efficiently sustain itself from POI ammo boxes. For example, 5 round magazine with 2 spare mags instead of the current 3 round magazine with 4 spare mages. Both are 15 rounds from a fully loaded state, but the larger mag option sustains itself better and is less likely to need to reload halfway through a kill.

Depends on the city and its not consistent. Some cities will give a very large boost to liberation as in 45%+ and can be capped in less than 8 hours. This is much more efficient than normal diving. Some planets, like the squid side objective, gave 100% liberation on capture and the MO tourists where not concentrating the city. Half assing a city and not finishing it is wasted effort as the planet is not getting liberated until the city finishes.
