That's what happens when ward haven loses to everything else. Ward haven is meme dog shit that gets destroyed by dragon and rune, and can still lose to aggro and sword if they don't draw Salefa. The deck has bad heals, bad draw, and Odin hard counters their biggest power play. Roach will be the dominant deck for the rest of the expansion once again, and this time they'll have Odin on top.

Rune lost to puppet portal
(Because double orchis guaranteed a kill. You can't heal and clear at once at turn 8-9)
Rune lost to artefact portal
(Because artefacts have 3 followers higher than 5 hp in a single turn, which is impossible to kill without ruining your economy while they did it for free)
Rune lost to the abyss, face sword, and face dragon
(5 turn do nothing means you will lose to aggro every single time unless they brick)
Rune lost to the forest
(Roach otk in turn 8 is unstoppable even with a double barrier from Norman)
So if you meet those crafters, just hit the surrender button immediately at turn 1.
Against Heaven is a bit tricky, if they draw the 2-cost aura and the amulet, you can surrender at turn 2 instead.

Not really. You can build the portal deck from what you have right now and test if you like the general idea of the deck.
Playing it with what you have and full power isn't a significant difference in experience.
Spellboost however requires all the cards to be viable. You can play the tutorial for it I guess? Maybe watch some videos.

Personally I heavily dislike artifact portal and prefer puppets. The constant fusing of artifacts is tedious and the result looks lame IMO aside from the 10 cost extinction mech.
So I'd go with spellboost, but it's also not as overpowered anymore.
Keep in mind both spellboost and artifact portal are mainstays of the game. So in the long run it's not a bad idea either way.

Artifact is the hardest deck in the game to play right. You need to play it different against each match up, and each state (whether you're the aggressor or defender). Should I craft Control Abyss? I've been playing aggro after crafting a copy of gravy. Now I only need 2x phimosis to complete the deck if I grab the Abyss starter for 1 more ginsetsu for the 2 that the deck normally runs. The problem is that I don't need any other cards from the starter deck, and ceres in particular isn't even used anymore so it doesn't matter that I get 2 of her as well.

Should work, but you'd have to evo her after you make gundam, which is a massive tempo loss, and it still dies to orchis sevo anyways. It'd be good against other crafts/if opponent is out of sevo, but other crafts also have other ways of removing it from hand without targeted spells/abilities or bane.

On average Ramp Dragon heals around 15 HP from fish alone.
(Use Fish Spell once during early game, Fishman on turn 4, and only sevo Nep once)
In addition 6 HP from Draw Spell x3, and another 6 HP from Olivia x3.
That makes it 47 HP total you need to reduce to defeat a successfully ramped up Dragon deck, all while they throw Twilight and Genesis on your face.
