Updating the client is easy. There are guides to updating from the vanilla to Classic clients and crazily both can work on the same server. But Turtle should have just scrapped the vanilla client altogether.

No reading all that. I played Turtle Wow and got sick of it. A large part of why I got sick of it were anons like you in FMC who were intolerable. But even then the server itself is kind of bad.

If Epoch winds up being bad I'll stop playing but I won't go back to Turtle Wow or FMC. I'll just quit playing Wow again. Then when the itch comes back hopefully there will be some good servers.

Just because Epoch might be bad doesn't suddenly make Turtle Wow not bad. It would just mean there's two unplayable servers.

Warmode isn’t a compromise. It’s a PvE server. If you have the ability to pick and choose at your convenience when you are vulnerable to PvP, that is by definition a PvE server.

PvE server players are the only people who whine about PvP servers existing, PvP server players have no problems with people playing on a PvE server. It’s like PvE server players are just offended some people enjoy a different rule set than them. Or more likely: they know PvP servers tend to be more popular and have better players, they want those players but to force them to play by their rules.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a PvP and PvE server. You choose the ruleset you enjoy more, everyone wins. Warmode is forcing everyone to play on a PvE server, but giving out bribes for people to turn on /PvP.

I'm no expert in private servers, leveled in turtle to 60 but didn't play much past that. Every weekend the server went down a couple times, I stopped playing after losing 2 almost cleared dungeons due to this. They even made 1h pally rets and shockadin viable due to one certain sword that is hidden in a certain sandy place, that procs bladestorm like a motherfucker and it works with seals and a certain offhand and mace that works even with priests.
Plus they aren't going the way of funserver, that is classless, though as of now, planning how your char will be is your first priority, since all talents are focused to work with one tree at all, and enchant glyphs serving as secondary unlocks for stuff like talents and spells you want from other trees, like seal of command for prot and holy as long as you invested 30 point in one of those trees.

No, there is some damage reflect gear but it's pretty meh, it works for AoE farming paladins though
For threat you can use consumables like the ungoro crystal grenades, engineer grenades, dynamite (doesn't require engineering), oil of immolation..
But I wouldn't bother with any of those other than maybe raids.
