This is really fascinating. I assumed the Amps had to be Sentient because the weakness to Void could be akin to short-circuiting. So Sentient parts would be superconductors. In Fortuna we use Eidolon parts but in Cetus it’s of the Orbs (which are also made using Sentient technology)
I didn’t remember the part we used Sentient cores and Eidolon Shards to upgrade the Focus Schools and we know those schools were of things taught to the Tenno long ago he was just remembering. So yeah, it makes sense when you think about it that the Sentients had a direct relationship to our abilities. We might have been using them like Relics and Ayatan Sculptures, re-learning abilities instead of unlocking Warframe blueprints.

Though this also comes with nasty implications: Eidolons therefore KNOW our abilities deep down, which places them after The Old Peace. And all Eidolons are just fragments of a bigger Sentient who Gara killed. And now we see a giant Sentient body dwarfing any Eidolon that Adis was piloting in the trailer.
