I already posted this on /v/, but I will also ask for advice there. Tested new cards on Matikanefukukitaru and failed horribly. Lost her debut and spiraled, taking every G1 under the sun to get her enough fans for skill upgrade, even if she never won a single one of them. I tend to be overly focused on fans, even if simply winning the goal races with one or two G1s should reasonably be enough. And with the current meta of "don't buy skills at all until the very end," I ended up being even more protective of the single skill I can get. Also, somebody said that I overshot with training speed, but the guide says that long-distance horses should have at least 900, so I don't know.

if the run starts out bad then you need to adjust your goals. if i'm wasting a lot of turns to rng then i'm not going to further waste turns hunting my unique levels or trying to pump out a ton of SP as those are mostly about min/maxing my stadium score. if my uma can't win optional G1s then that's the game telling you that your stats are behind even the career curve, let alone the pvp curve. the turns i decide to train instead of build fan-count (which is trivial these days with all the fan bonus%) results in better stats, which results in race wins, which result in more SP (and securing a full career of races).
>don't buy skills till the endif the uma's career has a random ass long thrown in the mix then i buy my gold recovery early to secure it (assuming i'm not sufficiently stammed). if my uma is struggling to win races handedly then i will also buy one or two skills that i know are good and are certain to buy if they reach 40-45% discount. 90% of my runs, i don't buy a single skill but it's subjective to the run.
>overshot with training speedyou're like 1/3rd of the way into your career, i dunno how you would determine this. if you've found that training pumped a lot of speed early then you just compensate later (or alter your build on the fly, like deciding to take two gold recoveries and lowering your stamina benchmark). your stamina is fine for a career, that isn't what's ruining your runs. without maintaining speed curve, you won't be dominating the G1s on schedule.

As a visual novel enjoyer I'm really impressed with the VN parts of the game. It's seriously impressive. They are short, but full of character. Great voice acting and full 3D animations.
