Somewhat. Having played since like 39 bracket, each bracket launch got some freshcucks, but often reverted back to those numbers. Vanilla raid drops prob saw more actual server growth than TBC launch. Vanilla shit unironic felt more alive than any TBC content drops. For the most part, only trapped vetcucks are online doing raidlogs or some ppl doing prep for wrath launch (hinted at fall/winter this year release). Wrath may bring more to the server, but as said before, content locks of ~3 months put people off. Even when most all servers actually have upwards of 6 month patch breaks. tbf for it's meme shit of PTE, it's been rather steady to play on and devs often talk with players to fix shit, if they can. Downside is anyone here that spergs the slightest about non-PC shit is banned, as mods are very liberal progressive.

The only downside to TBC shaman was that you're obligated to run drums because you're the worst caster DPS + you're the first to get sat/asked to swap to healing because totem of wrath is group wide. That shouldn't ever end up being the case here.

When the chinks invaded Turtle Wow it killed /turtleg/. Anons stopped playing there for over a year as the server was unplayable with hour long queues just to get in.
The difference is the server made a ton of money despite losing its English speaking players because of the influx of Chinese paypigs spending outrageous amounts for spectral tigers. That isn’t happening here. If a bunch of players leave this time it won’t be good for Turtle Wow. Not saying they won’t survive this but it isn’t going to be great for them. I’d say at the very least /wpsg/‘s interest in the server is over for the time being.

When /turtleg/ merged back with the then-dead /wpsg/ thread, I just gave WoW pservers a break. The few anons who kept playing migrated to MB2 eventually and stayed there a long time. Then they tried Crusader-storm but that server was doomed. Then a new generation of anons said "let's try Turtle again" and the rest was history.
I would say maybe /wpsg/ will return to Turtle someday. Maybe there will be another revival of FMC once more. But I think until then /wpsg/'s interest in Turtle is over. Not even because Epoch is going to be such a great server, but because the gossip anons have poisoned the well such that nobody really wants to play on Turtle any more.

I crusaded to get people to join Basement channel in Turtle but about a month ago a GM accidentally wrote in the channel revealing they monitored it in secret. You could even /chat list # for channel and the GM wouldn't show up. Turtle went from promoting basement to monitoring it. Never got banned from for anything in basement but wouldn't consider it private.
You can try that in Epoch but seeing the Discord bans and test run bans id look for something outside the game. That leaves Discord which has its own tradeoffs and here.

Sylma was a nice guy but a terrible leader. He just let people act so bad in the guild. Filthydrunk really did piss off a lot of players by acting like an asshole. You can argue "oh the players who made quit were bad ones" and with Elaynna yes he was a bad player. But Jib wasn't a bad player. Ahru wasn't a bad player. Fuutank wasn't a bad player. Hell Fuutank is one of the few anons keeping FMC alive right now. If Filthydrunk had gotten his way and Fuutank had stayed gone, the guild would be over by now.
Filthydrunk also started the trend of pugging during FMC raids. He would skip FMC raids to do BWL before FMC did BWL, then skipped them to do AQ40 before FMC did AQ40.
The worst part is he wasn't just some random player. He was an officer. He should have been demoted the first time he had a meltdown on discord. But Sylma chose to ignore it. Sylma ignored a lot of problems just hoping and wishing they would go away. At most he would whisper you and try to placate you with empty words. But the issues didn't go away. They got worse.
FMC is in the state it is because of Sylma. I'm so tired of hearing that Sylma was such a great leader when he was terrible. I get it. He was a good guy. He posted his character's butt to the thread. People like him. But that doesn't mean he's a good leader. Far from it.
