No that's the case of you not figuring out the pace and It's only bad when the pace is inconsistent like COD Vanguard. MW3 was less offensive in that regard but it had its own share of unreadable moments especially when you run around with a knife inside the Stash House but I digress. What I'm trying to say is both MW2022 and BO6 were readable enough if you spent enough time. MW2022 had inconsistent spawns but MW19 wasn't any better you're definitely misremembering the game or spammed Shoot The House 24/7 playlist like 99% of the players who didn't stick to Search And Destroy only.

And having a readable pace is one of the reasons why BO4 was a sweat fest game because when the spawn system is working and the TTK is astonishingly low, what's stopping pros from learning how to read the spawns and shoot consistently in a game where good aim matters so much just because of how long it takes to kill one person. Mind you that game had persistent lobbies and the SBMM wasn't as controversial unlike MW19 and onwards.

Used a mod to disable the filter and cosmetics. Game looks better now.

Tuning should have been more of a min-maxing system instead of make-or-break. For example, equipping a weapon with five attachments should elevate it to 90% of its potential, allowing players to use the weapon as is. they also made sure the attachments added to what made each weapon unique- the M4 is by far the most modular weapon with the widest selection of attachments, while something like the tempus razorback (which was effectively just a bullpup m4) was less modular but had barrels with integrated sights. the iso hemlock (and later an lmg, taq evolvere?) had two different ammo types that changed how the weapon preformed entirely with different rpm and damage, the kastov 545 and m13b could become buttery smooth, the augs had the aug sight (which while not incredible is still a nice touch), etc etc. point is- if there were weapons that had relatively similar performance, there's usually either a gimmick or attachment variety (combined with other stats) that made you genuinely consider one over the other. sure there's overlap with attachments doing relatively similar things, but the variety on offer made that a non-issue, unlike in bo6.

I legitimately think the devs wanted people to shop around their attachments in MWII based on aesthetics. There's no point in sweating over "oh god, do I take +10% recoil control and +12% hipfire accuracy? or do I take +11% recoil control and +11% hipfire?" The variety is there for the sake of variety, which I think is fine, especially because they also managed to cut down the grind significantly. In BO6 grinding guns to level 50 and unlocking the same shit over and over is just obnoxious when there's a better solution.
I actually liked tuning (I especially miss being able to tune for aim walking steadiness) but it definitely needed to be less vague, and the system of diminishing returns needed to be more obvious. There are doubtless tons of people who never figured that out.

Big Red 1 was straight, COD2 was alright at the time. I just wanted to play games that let you aim down the iron sights.
