I swear the community drives me nuts with how they take the "No one can choose who they are in this world" from chapter 1 and repeat it like a mantra like the whole moral of the game is you do not have any free choice. It'd be like if people took Flowey's "In this world it's kill or be killed" to be 100% gospel and repeated it for years despite the rest of the game explicitly proving that's not the case. They somehow think they're so smart for taking everything they read at face value. Reminds me of those people who constantly quoted "Let the past go, kill it if you have to" from Star Wars as if that was the main message, conveniently forgetting that it was said by a retarded manchild who was the villain of the movie.

Even if the game ends up having only one "ending", which is silly since each individual chapter has tons of little differences depending on what you do, just like Undertale. So if your takeaway from that is somehow that none of your choices mattered then you are remarkably stupid.

I always thought people were exaggerating how bad the Undertale community was just because it got super popular and they were actively seeking out posts to get angry at so that they could write an angry Steam review about how the community is so mean to them. With the Deltarune community, I can actually see it.

DR has a lot of references to game creepypastas and glitches and progressing the wrong way, things that lead to unexpected (weird) alternate routes. You know, I have been thinking. You know how when Susie made the dark fountain and the colors and perspective changed? I am beginning to suspect the Roaring Knight™ hasn't actually made a single fountain. Every dark fountain that we have visited other than the one susie made share the same lens and coloration. I think the confusion stems from them refusing or being unable to cast magic spells means they are purely mundane thing. Like, it maybe sounds ritzy because "forest" has a nice connotation to it, but what it means in practice a lot of the time is you "own" a rectangle of difficult terrain left to nature & the elements because nobody wants to develop on that terrain.
I live in the rural midwest. My uncle "owns a forest", a big chunk of land, and he's poor. He pays some property tax on it but gets no income from it besides maybe some people paying him a bit to hunt in there for deer or morel mushrooms.
