I'd rather get more dps buttons. Another 10 levels of animation + vfx upgrades to our OGCD heals will never make these jobs fun in 99% of content.
The first time I've ever felt like a "healer" in ffxiv is doing gold farms in South Horn, where my dps buttons were untouched and I was entirely focused on perfectly rotating my mitigations and heals to keep the tank alive.

Like have Dosis PvP-style combo into two more DPS spells with increasing potency, so you're encouraged to get your three spell combo off and it's slightly more animations/feeling like you're doing something
I would also add an off-ramp - if you use the second DPS spell, it chains into your third spell BUT it also gives you a status that allows you to chain into the third spell (and is consumed on doing so) OR is consumed if you cast (Eukrasian) Diagnosis/Prognosis and increases their potency by 250/150 respectively
So you're encouraged to cast the DPS combo, but if you desperately need to heal and break the combo you aren't completely punished for it either

They balance the fights around healer DPS being a decent contribution. If they let people die due to greeding glare casts then yeah that's annoying. Don't just kick them for it though unless they refuse to change something or coordinate with the other healer/tanks. Yet it's also a self perpetuating cycle because people get sick of the overly withdrawn friends because it feels like nothing you do matters to them or helps...
