FWIW warlocks are one of the most unpopular classes in the class poll, so along with not having to compete for cloth/caster drops as much (mage is pretty unpopular too) your utility will also be sought after. might be more popular on Horde as troll lock is a new race/class combo, i don't think Alliance has any new warlock races though so you might be more of a snowflake there.

they're still a clothie class so in PvP you run the risk of getting instadeleted by rogue/cat druid but you're a little beefier than a mage and have more sustain.

i've been doing a single player server at .5 XP to kind of practice, plus it's individual progress with wrath so i have TBC/WOTLK to look forward to on it vs Epoch and its custom content. human and nelf weren't too bad at .5 XP but dwarf/gnome starter was rough, had to do quite a bit of grinding because some retard made one of the quests level 4 and i didn't want to have to come back and do it later. other than that though it's been pretty comfy, i have a pally at 11 and a mage at 6.

I'm rethinking going explorer's contract but I know I'm going to regret not taking it. I'd imagine all the extra quests make up for the exp loss but I didn't play any of the betas so I'm not sure.

keep in mind that youll need 2000 gold at 60 for ur epic mount and dualspec
being frugal and doing many of the 1600+ quests at max level will contribute to a bunch of gold, otherwise its daily/weekly farming
it takes between 600-1000 quests to level from 1-60 with vanilla quests out of a total of around 1500 so at 0.5x youll have to do atleast 1200 quests

Both are good, its more of a stylistic difference. Disc is generally more based around shielding and mitigations while holy is more pure throughput. But the differences are much smaller in vanilla vs later expansions.

How to vote?

What should I play in Epoch? I have friends going ret pally, holy priest, and either lock or mage. Was thinking prot pally for free mount, and aoe farm potential. Druid also comes to mind so I would get all the leather, and would still have decent mobility until I get a mount. I know the economy will start slow, so figured a free mount would make farming well, 60% faster, for free! The druid changes sound enticing though. Planning to do herb/alch regardless! pic unrelated
