it not as important now, because it's not like i have lots of good support options lv40+, but for me it helped to just make my own spreadsheet to clearly see who does what, like "x has good sprint skills", "x is for pace chasers", etc. all this info exists like on gametora, but laying it out myself helped get it into my head and have something quick to check.
combine that with general tier lists and guides, which mainly focus on baseline good stats like high friendship and speciality, +bonus stat.

To try and keep it short: Just like with life, a balance is important, some more than others depending on your position.
Front and Pace for example need a ton of speed first and foremost.
Later and End need a ton of Power instead, speed being secondary, if not even third rate depending on your skills.
Depending on which race type you have going (sprint, medium etc) you also need to keep your stamina in mind, long needing a lot of it.
Guts isn't too important currently, so 300 is usually plenty. Wits largely defines how often your skills actually work and proc, but also other things like the positioning and such.

embracing Wit can be game changing. it levels Speed secondary, it recovers energy without potentially getting mood down like resting, it prevents bad starts and maintains focus, it gives skill points and makes skills activate reliably. by giving energy back whilst also giving a little bit of speed, so you can then in turn spend more turns actually training speed, which will passively give power as a secondary without having to train it - so it's a feedback loop of goodness. you will have raw speed, power and wit, with tons of skills and a good mood maintained. so from there you can just add some stam as required. that the trifecta. power you will have enough from training speed without focussing on it, and guts is not needed.

she's just as RNG as anything else in the game. her recreations are energy, skill and mood boost so you could have a few turns where you don't risk night owl to recover energy. but that's only if you unlock her recreations in year 1 or year 2. her recreation is much less useful year 3. i think she's a bit better for front runners or pace chasers since her final event gives you hints for concentration.

If RNG favors an early recreation unlock I think she's better than other supports because you don't need to hint roll to learn her skills, you just get them by doing the recreations which restore energy, mood and grant skill points. If you don't want her skill she doesn't do as much for you
