Which honestly I still don't really understand. Wukong, Sekiro, fucking Wild Hearts, all other action games can have super hard content in the base game without anyone complaining, but not MH. It sucks balls and limits the fun.

It has some pacing issues, the narrative is hard to follow if you don't know the original story and they overused invisible walls, but ye, it's clear they put all their passion into it.
I think they went a bit quantity over quality in terms of bosses, but they do make the adventure like a huge journey where you face a plethora of adversaries.
The game flows surprisingly weel in NG+ as well, it feels like a boss rush almost.

I still preferred Lies of P overall (especially with the DLC), but it's crazy how both LoP and Wukong came from new studios with "smaller" budgets.

I think the most important thing would be to bring back subs, rare species and variants. Or even just have more guardians.
Alternative, harder versions of bosses exist in a lot of games because it allows you to have a fairly new and fresh fight but with a lot less work.
Since monsters take so long to make nowadays, it makes sense to use them as a faster output, alongside the brand new or returning monsters.
Events also have the potential to bring a lot of challenging and fun quests, but they are barely even utilized.

If I have to keep the current general structure, I'd say an update every 2 months, with a mini-update between them.
>6 main TUs with 2 monsters each (one new/returning monster and one sub/rare/variant/guardian)
>mini-updates contain one AT and a bunch of small collabs like the old games (2 ATs would be better, just make more monsters relevant in endgame)

>festivals, like in World and IB, are not tied to updates, they just happen 4 times a year and feature some extra event quests and cosmetics

You should also expand the endgame a bit every TU, but that's more complex to discuss since the base one is so flawed you kinda need to redo it (like they are doing now by adding charms). I'd honestly like a guiding lands style system where you can level up the zones, and encounter stronger monsters the more you go up. You can increase the max level ever 2-3 TUs. Of course make it permanent like Anomaly levels, and not fluctuating..

I love Monster Hunter, it is easily my favorite game of all time, but I think the player base is retarded.

For starters, most of them have a "main" in a game that has 14 very different weapon classes with different gameplans, strengths, and weaknesses that make it so not a single class is universally the best in 100% of all situations, requiring you to learn them all to be proficient at the game. But the fact that not everyone has learned how to effectively play all the classes, means that those players don't know what makes those classes weak. This leads to situations where people usually hammer mains will frequently bitch about other classes being overpowered.

It also doesn't help that the majority of the player base gets all of their opinions about the game and strategies from popular youtubers. /mhg/ spends more time talking about Youtubers than the actual game. It doesn't help that with some very minor exceptions most of the time what these Youtubers say are blatantly wrong, encourage infective "meta" loadouts, or start up artificial drama for the sole purpose of getting more Youtube ad revenue and having a little miniature crisis around it, (like World vs. Rise, Wilds vs. World, Dos vs. Everyone else). The worst part is that these kinds of players only repeat what the Youtubers say verbatim and never show an original thought of their own that dissents from what their favorite Youtuber says.

Also, with the recolor crisis. So fucking many people who have played for years do not know the difference between a subspecies, a rare species, and an origin species. I swear you have people who think the number of large monsters in this series is around 400 even though its actually closer to 150 different monsters, and about 250 nearly identical reskins thereof

Also, so many fucking MH players are bronies, trannies, furries, pedophiles, or FFXIVtrannies. It's so fucking tiresome to see the same types of creeps and weirdos in every other lobby.

World is just way more rich than Rise.

>every single monster theme has been ruined with chant cacophony and shitty jap vocals, Rajang lacks weight and primal energy and has some old dude orgasming in the background, Teostra sounds like a gay fashion show in Saudi Arabia and Bazel theme is some Disney Channel variation of the original
