I dislike Commoragh because it's unavoidable and makes your character actively retarded in order to facilitate the journey there. There should've been other ways aside from being captured to end up in Commoragh so it didn't feel so forced, but Owlcat loves taking away player agency so yeah.

I mainly disliked it because it was confusing to navigate. It reminded me of Arulnynshisnnaia in Wotr. Being without teammates wasn't that bad.

I have two problems:
a)The way you are trapped/captured. Even with the non-yrliet approach, it's a bit off.
b)The first 30-40 mins with the hallucinations stopping the game every 30 seconds. It did build a good atmosphere the first time, but on a replay, it's a pain
A few more Deldars you can actually interact with beyond Tervantias and the one time Marazhai persuasion check would be nice too.

I hated Commorragh the first time around, but I wound up rather liking it in subsequent runs. After so long getting talked up as an untouchable, demi-god, it was a stark reminder that the Rogue Trader is still human and still has enemies that can challenge him.

Why doesn't Owlcat just make all companions sexy women (half of em are xenos) that are romancable? It would sell like hot cakes

Can you tell Hand of the Inheritor to chill at camp while you go to the brothel with Camellia or are you still forced to bring him with you while doing Camellia's secret evil romance quest?

You first need to pick the "Kill your uncle" route during the final talk with Aldis.
Then convince Annie to stay with you by convicing her that necromancy isn't inherently evil and can be used to help people.
Then before the final battle, give her your spellbook and tell her she may use it as she sees fit.Turns out, Annie is a smart girl and doesn't become a powerhungry lich as you might expect.
There is also a "redemption" ending where you can bring yourself back to life, but it's a cuck ending, where your uncle just fucks you over and turns the whole country into a distopian nightmare and Annie leaves you anyway.

It was pretty neat and overall I enjoyes the experience but I think I would rather just play a blobber if it's going to be mostly dungeon crawling with pretty minimal story elements

Spells per day is the lamest mechanic known to man in video games. It works in tabletop because you fight less and you can actually use long term utility spells. In video games, it just makes you waste time doing long rests

I like that it's a resource I need to budget and have a bit of foresight about when picking the next day's spells. It's fun to push a little further when spells are low. Also there's typically a lot of consumable items that can be used if need be in games with spell slots.
One of the only changes I thought was bad from Pillars 1 to 2 was spells going per encounter. At a certain point you just always cast your highest level spells because why wouldn't you? That takes some variety out of encounters.

I for sure have to be careful with my rests on Hard in WotR, that Corruption can ramp up really quickly in some areas. Besides it's not assured that I will succeed in making food and some of those bonuses are very helpful, so if I've succeeded at making goodberry pie or whatever, I'm just slightly averse to losing it (but not very much, granted.)

BG1&2 and IWD had potentially infinite interruptions by enemies while resting, which in some cases could be quite brutal. So this also factors in, because if you wait too long you might be facing a surprise attack with low resources.

Thanks to some anons here I decided to play expeditions rome and I just now finally finished it. Pretty good game and conquering was fun but sometimes it felt like a drag and turns were taking too long.
Plus both final quests in act 4 are really stupid. The writers made every ally retarded and weak to asspull their bitter sweet endings. Res Publica is a fucking embarrassment where even smart characters ignore the obvious schizo BBEG shenanigans until it's too late, Syneros dies from the most obvious poison trap , assassin that runs away like Minago from WOTR and etc. Everyone likes the legate and knows the truth but they still prefer to see their saviour either dead or exiled for protecting all his people . The worst part is that somehow dictator's bro and former accomplice get away with everything unlike your character. The die is cast is slightly better but involving legion was still overkill and allies were drama queens instead.

Yeah I'm slightly bitter that Act 4 tried to force the drama a bit too hard, to the point someone will always fuck up in the dumbest way to put any stakes at all in it.

But I think the "everyone likes the legate but still gets exiled for just protecting their people" thing is justifiable by how the senators have been characterized all game long as a bunch of mega autists that will carry out the law in the most strict and anal way possible because "if it ever fails us, it means the whole system was wrong and needs to be changed, but before we reach that point it needs to actually fail us and what we consider failure is once the whole fucking system crumbles". It's actually very good, I had a lot of fun with it.
You can tell that it's some kind of an indie passion project made by three people in their basement with no budget whatsoever, but that makes it more impressive with how much content and branching paths there is. It really makes you feel like a mad scientist from some gothic novel, perfoming weird ritual and stealing dead bodies from morgues.
The game can sometimes be very jank, tedious and obtuse, but IMO it can be forgiven, because the rest of the game makes it worth it.
I also had a serious softlock bug near the end when you can fuck yourself over with no means to progress, but the dev admitted this was a dumb oversight on his part. And the game isn't much of a looker, but it's a text-heavy cRPG, so who cares.

How would you even go about balancong RT anyway? It's not just a matter of increasing HP and damage, and extra turns are not such a big issue anymore. But rather it's the there are so many crazy items and abilities that have insane scaling. You could try reducing experience gains so you don't become so overwhelmingly powerful so quickly, but that would affect people who don't have the DLCs the most. Blade Dancer and especially Executioner need to be reigned in because they're insanely strong. Operative needs a huge buff too, probably a complete redesign

Yrliet is by far the most developed character in game with a lot of reactivity, multiple main quests and side quests relating to her and entire third act being pretty much her companion quest. She is objectively number 1 and the most important companion in game.
Then Jae which also has proper companion quests resolving around her and only second to Yrliet's in quality and effort put into them, both in writing and design
Following her is Idira and Cassia who also have character development and proper quests through the entire game, but those mostly are rather simple and merely about killing enemies.
Kibellah is likewise similar to those two girls above, but suffers from being dlc character glued on top of existing game
Argenta is firmly at the bottom and only slightly above a generic mercenary, given that she functionally stops being acknowledged after Footfall. Even her cumrag's torture sucks
