All of these characters are still useful to have for second teams or situations where you don't have EVERY meta buffer OR bosses where type damage means you can't field Striker X because they get blasted by the boss so you use their special version.

The second you get away from guns, its not blue archive anymore. There's so many factors that came together to make BA the way it is, its like a jenga tower, if you remove any one factor the entire tower might collapse. I don't think a story is BA just because the same girls are involved, the story/lore/setting is almost like a character itself in a setting.
There are rare exceptions, you could probably make a fantasy RPG only if it starred the GDD. But the fantasy RPG should feel like something that has the same in-universe logic as BA.
