Except on CN the mentality was different, even for devs. They were designed with being standard characters at the start. The banner was just a chance for whales to get them easily without relying on standard/losing 50/50. And it gave f2ps chance to have some time to save. During first summer event, when S.Moko/S. Closer released, people complained because there were 5 limites in a row. Devs specifically promised that every 3-4 banners there will be a rerun/new standard banner, because the speed that they release new characters at is too high

It's actually a stealth nerf. The costume gacha was like our railway event gacha where it had a limited number of pulls, so while trying for the costume you'd get a bunch of upgrade materials. Our version of the costume costs more than the CN banner did to max it, so we're basically just paying more for less.
They also admitted that it's only available permanently because they're required to leave it there by EU law. They'll keep pissing on global and saying it's a gentle spring drizzle.

Honestly speaking, I think the main issue with writing is just the execution for when things to go bad to worse, but at the same time there's a lot of heart and emotion in the writing.
