WoW Classic has basically nothing to offer outside of that one streamer event thing, MoP wasn't all that popular of an expansion (and isn't Vanilla).
Retail has a seasonal model which a lot of people are becoming disillusioned with, Blizzard has long since ignored their playerbase, Housing is however long off and as cool as housing is, its not anything new to MMOs. Retail is just do your weeklies do Raids and Maze.
OSRS on the other hand, doesn't take away player power, is very active with their community (see: polling for updates and devblogs), is constant in its setting and gameplay, you're shown what you get, and has no MTX outside of Bonds, which WoW has tokens so no bitching or you'll get my shoe.
This is coming from someone with WoW open right now, and although I have played OSRS since I was a kid I don't have a sub right now and am only subbed to WoW. I don't think WoW is going anywhere and doomposting is for annoying faggots.

Legion remix crying, was coupled by people crying about PVP Elite sets. I have literally never played a Warlock in any serious capacity. Finished leveling one, bought greens, got into a crate farm and did my pvp world quests. Got my weapons plus a few extra crates. Did some WM dailies to finish off get WM gear in slots. Took around 2 days, though I could've just turned the game off during crates fucking miserable.
20 minute ques for a while. Was rough since most games lasted 10-12 minutes at most and I sat 2x the que. Got elite my 2nd week on the warlock, averaged 4 games a day, 33 games total +2-3 days for leveling gearing.
I've never been a glad, I'm just a que bgs and used to que arenas for 2 wins and occasional elite set if I liked them. But it's never been easier and people are still complaining about the difficulty.
