I find Toby Fox and his creations to be motivating and life affirming. It doesnt matter if I wont have the same cultutal impact as him, whats important is that I trust in my own creativity and dont lose the passion to try. I think the lack of an Alphys reveal scene after the True Lab was for pacing reasons since the last scene with Alphys goes straight into that final hallway with "the flower's gone" and then straight to the finale and an extra bit in between would've made things a little messier
On the other hand seeing how Undyne reacts to the Amalgamate mess would've been a really good opportunity to round out her character arc and show us another side of her so that sucks

Try to care less for the cultural impact on the whole world, and moreso on the people that do like it.
That way, while it might not be the hottest thing ever since Meet n Fuck Kingdom, your medium will become some underrated gem, which is worth more IMO.

My only complaint about Alphys is that we got to sit through the entire process of her going from friends to lovers Undyne but then we missed out on the most important part of all, Undyne's reaction to discovering she had been regularly hanging out with her right above her fucked up laboratory full of amalgamates.

I don't even think Undyne should like, break up with her over it, but there should have been a reaction at all. Undyne gets fucking butthurt as hell whenver something bad happens to any monsters, but when it comes to Alphys, it just gets shoved offscreen and you can only assume that maybe she got told before the game ended.

My theory is that Dess is the knight, but she's basically comatose and the only way she has any agency is in a dark world. Similar to how Gerson is dead but can be alive in a dark world. It's the reason she's silent, feral, and her form is a lot less defined as the other lightners. But I think this is also why Undyne was able to be dragged to the shelter. She's a cop who can benchpress cars. She might have been caught off guard in the dark world but I can't imagine many people being able to overpower her in the light world. She got to the light world, saw the sorry state of dess and whomever inserted her there, and realized there's something more. And that something is in the dark world in the shelter.

this is such an obvious pull that i think playing it straight would be more subversive.
the prophecy is stated to be comically comprehensive anyway so I don't believe we could have gone this long with there not being some explicit "you shouldn't be here".
tbdesu i'm plenty concerned about ralsei's actions and intentions. it makes sense for us as the player to want to collect darkners but it feels like ralsei's supposed to be some kind of very friendly warden at times. he also doesn't seem to feel much remorse from killing hostile enemies but does apparently mourn friendly darkners he could have saved in castle town. ultimately he, as a darkner, has virtually no autonomy beyond a vague service of lightners and is forced to watch everything outside of that unfold.
it also makes me think about the titan fight, where ralsei starts to give up: knowing knowing there are one or two prophecy items shown that haven't occurred yet (jockington, for one) and that ralsei apparently has knowledge of things pertaining to the prophecy in the light world (ex: ch. 4 snowgrave), there was always going to be a way to beat the titan. thus, either the prophecy is so convoluted that any little divergence can be explained away (functionally no prophecy), or the non-agent darkners are preprogrammed in their actions.

I think ramb, the pippins, tenna, etc. make it clear that kris is a fucked up kid so something as evil as snowgrave wouldn't be too out there. kris "playing the game" with darkners and maxing the dps out seems like an easy strategy.

I've been wondering lately if maybe we weren't really interrupted during the vessel creation. I'm starting to wonder if maybe the line "nobody can choose who they are" was something someone told Kris once, and we were hearing his dream/nightmare about it. Maybe Kris was meant to die a long time ago and something prevented it, but didn't prevent us appearing, so we ended up taking control of Kris' soul. Maybe that nightmare was about Dess, and the reason he killed her was because he was angry. He ended up in art therapy afterwards, didn't he? Maybe Ralsei was the name he wanted to have, and Ralsei was the monster he wanted to be, but the memory of it was repressed, just like the third room in the hospital. Dess probably wasn't a good person/monster, really. Maybe he only stayed around her because Asriel did.
