If anything, Little Busters shows just how far a company can fall. Key were positioned as a cultural touchstone in VNs and anime, ready to cement their legacy as the greatest VN company of all time with Kanon, Air, Clannad, and Little Busters. They were at their very PEAK with Little Busters, and then like an over-inflated balloon... something burst inside Key. I don't know what it was, but something broke, and the end result was Rewrite. Like a spurt of shit that leaks in your pants, we ended up with a terrible, shameful mistake instead of continuing a legacy of greatness.

That's why I get sad every time I see Little Busters posted, because right when Maeda's style was maturing and he was learning to write fully fleshed out stories, something broke, and every game since has been pure trash. It's inexplicable, tragic, and plain sad, but that's the reality we live in. Maeda put his heart and soul into Little Busters, and he had nothing else left to give after that. Man, I'm tearing up just writing this. Why did it have to end with Little Busters? What went so wrong with the timeline after 2007?

I increased my audio device's output frequency hoping that it would raise the maximum volume.
Do I notice a difference or is that just my brain tricking me?

I'll attempt to reread the vn. The problem is that with vns like steins gate is that I already know what the fuck is going to happen, and Okabe is not that great of a character alone. So I have to wait for a long time until Kurisu shows herself in front of him when he's in uttee despair to start enjoying it and that is quite deep into the vn. It doesn't have the charm of Raging Loop with the morally questionable mc and the cool asf fatman suddenly becoming Sherlock Holmes. I could try reading the two decent fandisks but without refreshing my memory by reading the original, it would not be as enjoyable.

I started a vn about a week ago and since then I've read like 2 lines a day. Is it over for me?

Just finished Chihaya's route. As much as I enjoyed it, there were multiple moments where you are guilt tripped about forgetting Kotori and I completely agree with it. Just the complete lack of care is utterly insane. I noticed there was an opportunity to turn this into a horror plot but I'm glad they didn't.

I picked this up on release on a whim because I just finished re-reading Laplacian's earlier stuff and it's...pretty rough. I know a lot of anons were critical of the AI assisted translation feature and I can tell you it's definitely noticeable, but not so bad to ruin the pace. Translation issues aside it's a pretty fucking boring story. I'm only on Chapter 5 currently but up to this point the story hinges on piecemeal hints of some future, yet not a single scene has been dedicated to actually building any kind of rapport for these characters.
