something tells me all runehaters are portalfags and artifact too. can do the same multitasking but instead of spellboost, a bunch of gears. difference? rune do it more easily and stronger, art heals 3? well they heal 4 (minimum). burn folowers for 3, rune do it for infinity. worst part is how the artifact legendaries doen't help much with the wincon beside burning because those don't give artifacts, a burn that can be negated with the insane healing, meanwhile all the legendaries minus the dude spellboost to hell and back. artifact has no OTK, gundam does 13 while runecraft has various and slightly more easier with satan, which can kill the gundam if sevo and kuon into dc into kuon.

80% of the ladder in high rank diamond is sword and rune, so this isn't really a serious consideration. In my last 50+ games, I haven't encountered a single turn 1 coin Beryl. The most I've seen is turn 2 Beryl when they go first, and yeah, I usually end up taking one hit to the face from that. But then the game continues.

Try to conserve at least one sevo for an OTK unless you need to spend it to survive. If you get an OTK, you just win. If you don't have the ability to get an OTK, you enter the grindverse and that's the zone CAbyss is comfortable in.
If you do spend your sevos early due to being forced to do it and you entered the grindverse, do not play Satan until one of these things is true:
1. The CAbyss player has a small hand size and was forced to spend most of their answers on your previous turns.
2. You have something that stuck on board from a previous turn so an Astaroth OTK might work out even without sevo.
3. You have 0-1 cards remaining in deck, so you have to play satan.
4. You have no other options that don't suck other than playing satan.
If you play satan without sevo too early while the CAbyss player is flush with answers, they can outgrind the entire satan deck and still win - I have done that multiple times.

Continuation: Overall, if you don't manage to get the OTK, you drop from favoured to disfavoured. CAbyss has the stronger late grind game than Rune and will keep presenting lethals that you will have to answer to turn after turn in the lategame even if you heal for the full 36.
Using your last sevo without getting an OTK out of it should be absolute last resort, try to use any other option you can before doing that.

Not him, but I also play control abyss. I agree with his overall sentiment in that the turn 10 satan/Dclimb plays are what generally overpowers control abyss and that without it they can probably outgrind you.

What I want to add on top of his advice is that in this matchup I have had success with abandoning the usual control abyss gameplan of carefully conserving evo points while grinding the board and instead adopting an aggressive evo strategy where I just push as much face damage through whenever I can to hopefully end things before turn 10 with an extra boost of damage from cerberus or odin. Sometimes from a slightly unexpected angle like Charon crest reanimating Vuella who gives SEVO Odin an extra boost of damage to swing 9 to the face after banishing Kuon's ward. Norman however puts a damper on that. If you see the abyss player start adopting aggressive damage plays, you'll probably want to heal. But you don't want to throw away your plans for that satan/dclimb play in the process.

Normally SEVOing charon isn't a particularly great idea. If you see them do it though, you should probably go take a look at their graveyard and ponder what they might be scheming.

The real solution is to print control cards that disrupt combo. Control decks would then run those cards instead of purely focusing on crushing aggro and both the aggro vs control and control vs combo matchups would become less polarised, which is healthy for the game as it's more fun when the outcome is determined by in game decisions than by the matchup before the game even started.

As Abyss,I can beat any class with a fair shot. Sword is literally impossible though. Aggro, control, midrange, makes absolutely no difference. I tried every single variant and every tech. They all lose to sword, you literally cannot beat Gildaria/Amalia/Albert. This is assuming you made it to that point, which means you did well early game, and didn't auto lose to 2 drop > Valse > Zirconia curve. Rune has very stupid legendaries, and a broken mechanic. But, sword has every single card being stupid at every point in the game. The only fair card in their deck is the 1/2 that spawns 1/1 rush, and even then you can't leave it alive or you get raped with rush.

For 6pp you can play much higher value cards (Sylvia, Noah that advance your winning condition either by card draw or adding/buffing puppets for Orchis & Liam) or a combo of (Fighter + any 2pp, Medical-grade + Puppet Theater + 1pp Enhanced and the better version of Synch Hearts: 2x Puppet Shield) and so on. If you want Victoria, just play Zwei for 1pp less and grant ward to any additional puppets entering the board. If somehow Zwei gets to live for a turn, Zwei into Orchis SEVO is pretty deadly and nets you a decent safety net/ pseudo Liam evo turn before your ward puppets collapse.

I think it's odd how they are implying they won't ever add ramp cards to dragon. If they are so afraid of dragon being too consistent, why not make ramp cards only work after the 5th turn and make it so you have a cap of how many times you can ramp in the game?
