Andoris is mandatory. Andoris with her sig would be even better.
Those two started the trend of fixing Electric dolls with the new Positive/Negative Charge effects.
Belka's single target damage is still very high and with her new expansion key might even be closely comparable to Leva. The biggest difference is all of Leva's shit is aoe, while Belka is complete single target focus.

Personally I'm going to skip Belka because I want an excuse to use Mosin who I like more even if she's not as good, and Belka constantly sucking off Klukai every other sentence is just obnoxious.

Probably the banner which lets you choose a doll and guarantees it the first time around.
Maki and Suomi are really good, though Maki doesn't really have a team right now.
Vector and Qiuhua kind of work together so you'd want both, and ideally others (Sharky is easily accessible and QJ is on the standard banner).

Go for the banner that allows you to choose who to roll for, that one is a half-anniversary selector that has a guarantee rather than a 50/50 like the normal character banners. Suomi is a great sustain with her team-wide shields. Makiatto is great damage and has an amazing overwatch. Daiyan has an AR and Ullrid has a sword, both are high mobillity crit machines. That's a loose ranking, but roll if you like the design.

You don't really need more than V0 Suomi, especially if you already have V6 Springfield.

The cat kind of helps with Kuklai, who is really good at almost any investment, but not really a team on her own or really requires the cat. Also not sure when she'll run again.

Mosin is alright, but electric is just not great for us right now (CN servers launched a year before us and our schedule is completely different). She's also not great overall, but she can definitely fill a spot and be ok as you get more dolls. Her main problem is the paralysis stuff doesn't work on bosses and that's where you can make the most out of her support actions.

Faye is kind of a physical buffer. Daiyan is probably the best physical unit and we only have another physical, a support, so it's nothing grandiose like the burn or hydro teams.

There's very little that will actively be a barrier or get you stuck in terms of gameplay so you can pick who you like and fill around them.

It’s not worth to roll for the shotgun girl since you don’t have a burn team yet. Vector and Suomi are good dolls to roll for as a beginner. Vector is the main unit of the burn team, a team that you can easily get for free (Sharkry, QJ, Ksenia/Cheeta). Suomi will be good for keeping your team alive by giving them shields. You just missed Springfield and meido, which are great for healing and sustain, so Suomi will be your next best option.

I'm a bit of a tryhard myself and I'd hate myself for wasting rolls on Suomi. You could cope with Ksenia if you want to ride it out until Springfield returns. Tololo is a fantastic doll, especially alongside Springfield but you'd want at least V2 Tololo for her to be any good. You should pick Qiongjiu on the standard banner first though, at least until V3. (maybe the guide mentions that, I haven't read it)

Tololo is okay on her own, but when you pair a V2 Tololo with a V1 Springfield she becomes a monster. Try to get her to V2 in preparation for Springfield’s rerun (in about 2 months). Also, try to get QJ asap, she is one of the best dolls even today. You can put her in any team and she will do work.

As an anon said, Suomi kind of fell off (ever since I got SF, she has gotten benched), but I always used to use her everywhere. It’s your choice if you want to try using some of the free sustain dolls (Cophne, Cheeta, Ksenia) while you wait for SF.

Yes QJ = Quongjiu. Campaign is definitely doable with the free units, especially since you can just borrow a whale’s doll for support. The "teams" in this game are loosely divided by their element. Usually it's 3 to 5 dolls that are considered the core. You want to have at least two of them.
The teams are usually made up with boss battles in mind, because the rest of the game is easy thus far. But this still leaves some teams completely dysfunctional outside of boss battles as some dolls are near useless on auto.
Springfield and Suomi trivialize survivability, which is somewhat important at the initial stage of the game and during the PVA levels, but drops in value after that.
Free Vepley is good. Invest in her.
You can set your rate up doll/weapon on the standard banner if you still didn't notice. This is extremely important in the long run.
The guide in the OP talks excessively about the purple cores but, since the release, golden chips became just as, if not more important. Don't confuse them with the worthless orange chips. Join a platoon to not miss out on a weekly chip.
Upgrade your dispatch level ASAP by raising your dolls' affection. You want to reach level 12 to get the functional stamina reserve storage and to afford most of the weekly dispatch shop.
Most importantly. DO NOT press the covenant button even if it glows red. Devs are retards and offer no checks for confirmation, so once you press it, it happens and consumes your ring.

So we have Burn banners at the moment.
Their core is Qiongjiu (3+ dupes, standard banner), Sharkry (purple doll) and Vector (good without dupes, gets better with 1 dupe and her signature gun).
They are a budget team for boss maps. Only Vector actually needs you to spend limited rolls. Vector is decent for general small map clears. QJ, on the other hand, is atrocious for anything other than bossing.
Next up is Hydro.
Their core is Nikketa (already good without dupes), Tololo (2+ dupes, standard banner) and Springfield (v6 bait, the more dupes the better, the team doesn't work without her dupe 1). They can work just as a Tololo+SF pair, you can rent someone else's Springfield and throw them into any team to do nasty single target damage. Springfield makes your team nigh unkillable.
Afterwards, we have a streak of Electro dolls.
Leva (1+ dupe, v6 bait), Lenna (1 dupe), Andoris (no dupes). Somewhat manageable to collect, but the team doesn't synergize with other elements, which makes them a tiny bit of a luxury pick.

The rest are actual luxury teams.
Corrosion.
Klukai (3+ dupes, v6 bait), Mechty (no dupes), Peritya (no dupes). The last 2 are replaced by Lynd in the future who is also a v6 bait. The team doesn't work without a whaled Klukai and unless you hoard all your rolls for her rerun you've missed the train. She is the premium map clearing doll. No one comes close. Klukai is Klukai level good.
Frost.
Makiatto (1+ dupe), ???, ???. There is no frost team, but there are multiple dolls that boost Makiatto's damage. Dushevnaya is a damage bot for Maki, Suomi makes your team unkillable, can enable budget non-frost teams by dealing extra stability damage. Alva will release later, she is going to be the Frost's Springfield. Makiatto is not even guaranteed to remain the focal point of the team, she's just the only Frost damage dealer we have at the moment.

FGO added a pity system many many years later, but it sucks balls. (You need to roll 330 times for a single copy, and it only works once.) Back then, even this didn't exist, so you could theoretically spend ten times as much as I did with no payoff.

That being said, platoon morale is important too. Lots of people share your sentiment and interpret this as a sign that the danchou isn't doing his job/not paying attention, which could cause a cascading effect if someone (like you) leaves.
So I think it's probably a good idea to kick people that haven't logged on for a while, even if you're a casual platoon. It signals that the platoon is still active and not just a walking corpse.
