I wouldn't say it's low stress, you need almost as much macro as the jungler because you get to roam to either sides of the map. In a way, you have to work in tandem with your jungler and keep river and jungle entrances warded.
Sidelanes operate more on their own: toplane is only relevant for Herald, while botlane is important because elemental drakes are the most impactful objectives until Baron and Elder.

No, roaming IS important, but you can't do it all the time. Giving up cs in midlane isn't that forgiving, the issue there is more about pressure than just how much gold you are giving up. And absolutely yes: if I ping the enemy midlaner roaming and for whatever reason I can't follow-up, and I ping botlane to go back because they are overextended, but they overstay and keep being aggressive, it's their fault for dying. I don't understand why I see botlaners always overextending and I don't know if it depends on the ELO.
