Honestly, the Kirby DLC doesn't really thrill me, and I'm usually hyped for anything Kirby. The concept itself seems bland and the game it's attached to already plays as a perfectly complete package. Nothing about it really draws me in. I'd very much prefer them to work on a new game rather than tacking DLC on an already satisfying full experience.
I suppose the vagaries of life must all follow a greater balance. A bland DLC to be placed on the scales, straightening them out from the greatness that was Magolor's epilogue. It's a turbid affair, fate's auspices.

I disagree personally, but appeal does come from a more individual perspective. What they've shown interests me both in terms of how it could remix the existing great levels, as well as story-wise. It seems quaint with what they've shown so far, but we do get glimpses of what could be going on deeper every now n again. The whole thing with Starries being described as "Having the power to contain the evil meteor" while they're collectible has me very intrigued, specially considering the meteor seems oddly familiar to something like Void in the glimpses we've gotten of it. I do also enjoy the whole crystal aesthetic it's got going on, the lighting and all look really cool. I'm also curious what the hell Astronomer Dee's deal will be, still can't shake the feeling he might be an alternate version of the Weapons Dee which in itself could mean new ability evolutions, if not new abilities alright, which alone makes me very intrigued. Like you said, Magolor Epilogue turned out great, and that itself was tacked onto the already full experience of RtDL, so I have confidence they'll do it again for Star Crossed World. I just wish they'd show it some more sooner than later...

Does Kirby have any actual lore or is it mostly just "wow, look at these cool new characters and their lore! (You will never see them again after this game btw), here's more dedede and meta knight through"? I'm asking since ive become kind of interested on what the fuck most of the games are about after hearing a few banger songs, but idk if it gets too repetitive with stuff like "you fight meta knight and dedede yet again" or something

There's quite a few throughlines of lore if you can spot 'em. For a series primarily geared at children and Japanese women in their 20s, there's quite a bit of depth and continuity, especially since Kumazaki took over as the series' director.

The lore is moreso a background thing. It's been developed relatively consistently (like the other anon said, specially in recent years), but the main game never pushes it thaaaat much to the forefront. Even when it's "new character with lore you won't see after this game", the game itself somewhat builds that character around the connection to a prior lore plot point. Off the top of my head: villains in Triple Deluxe have their own interpersonal lore and plot going on, but one of the catalysts for them to become villains is the center piece of Amazing Mirror, same with Robobot having something established in Super Star as the catalyst with some newer stuff from Return to Dream Land to tie it together. It's there but not obtrusively so. Up until Forgotten Land, most lore was infamously hidden in the pause screen for boss fights (hence the "pause for lore" thing) and general background details. FL meanwhile has it attached to collectibles. It's got some good worldbuilding going on but the main games remain focused on Kirby going on a journey with some familiar faces showing up in varying roles.

Looking through Switch 2 screenshots I've taken so far, pretty nice that they're 1080p now, hopefully will lead to nice pics for SCW and Air Riders. Helps me save reference images at least, the 720p on Switch meant some details would get slightly lost for smaller textures like Elfilis's fur or the grass pattern.

I hope we get more in game side modes that then get expanded with eshop titles like on the 3ds instead of just another kirby clash or another kirby fighters. unless its an actual kirby fighters fighting game

I agree, though, I do think FL's don't give particularly much ground to work with. Although, they probably could work with Tilt-And-Roll as a base and make a Tilt n Tumble sequel proper, kinda like Blowout Blast was to 3D Rumble, BB was quite the big expansion

Yeah FL's where much more barebones, but we did get dream course which is entirely original, still makes me think FL had little dev time for anything outside the making the main game work so well. Hopefully now that they can iterate off FL the next games have more typical side stuff.

Prediction - next mainline will have Kirby's ally introduced in the game be the big bad. Now people have their guard down again because Elfilin didn't turn out to be Marx 3.0.
