Basically the gist is that, each skill card has their own cost. And each memory has a minimum total cost of these skill cards depending on the rating of the run.
The lower the rarity of the skill card, the lower the cost.
So to efficiently farm your target deck, you'd have to pick the target skill cards for your memory, calculate their total cost and aim for that rating, and for the whole run, only pick low rarity silver skill cards so that they wouldn't be included in the final deck.
So yeah, lots of RNG.
There's also the green memory swap ticket you can get from the coin gacha and contest store but that shit is ass.

I think after the 1st Bootcamp you can throw anything at them at this point. I do think they've lived up to expectations besides Aoi but that's only because some people are expecting her to fill in the shoes for Nakamura Eriko and that's just impossible for anyone.

What even is the point of announcing something a year later? I think it's great that MOIW is 4 months from now. I'm not saying you should plan it that early but the announcement could surely be closer. It's the same shit with videogames these days where who the fuck cares about showing a reveal trailer when the game is still 2 to 3 years off.

I don't agree with him that they announced MOIW so soon because of them though, they had to have been planning this live since last year because there is A LOT that goes into planning a live. You have to see who you can get to come, make sure schedules align so there's time for rehearsals and lessons, make sure you can reserve the venue around that time, make sure you plan all the merch and advertising. It's not a small logistic issue, the cast was probably set since the beginning of the year, or at least most of them, and even now they're likely to still be negotiating with some agencies for some more people. You don't plan a dome live months before. But you do have to announce it months before to do all the lotteries and because of my first point, people need time to PLAN, even if they already live in Japan. Think of the poor HokkaidoPs.

Have you seen the number of lives scheduled for this year? Between the other lives, gacha budget and possible selling of goods related to one's idol, that's a lot to juggle. That's not even considering if said person is into multiple branches and if they have a "must attend" live (like going to Chihaya's Budokan live).

Reminds me of someone who had to take a shinkansen to go to the live and had to leave as soon as the live ended (to catch said train). Doable, sure but I imagine it'd cost money (like Tokyo-Osaka is 15K yen one-way) and you might end up falling asleep on the job (which is not a good look).

The further out the live is, the easier it is for people to schedule for it. It's not like a video game where you throw down a payment and that's it, a live requires you to fully plan your weekend around it, your meals, transportation, lodging if you don't live near the venue, etc. Matters only get worse if you're from overseas and need to do international travel, or work on weekends and need to get paid time off, or have a pre-existing scheduling conflict.

Hell, it being so close has had an impact on the actual seiyuu themselves. Ami/Mami's VA said that she was invited but straight up couldn't go because of a pre-existing conflict:

The 10th anniversary isn't necessarily a "death knell" but it's pretty clearly the point where Namco sticks a fork in a branch's live schedule because they typically try to go all out for the 10th live and as the seiyuu get older, there's kind of this unspoken expectation that "X live was probably as good as it gets because we got everyone to show up and really went all out with the set list".
It happened with AS after MOIW 2015, it happened with CG after Magical Wonderland (though it does seem like they're going for another "mega" live with the SS 10th finale), it happened with ML after 10th Act-4, and it'll probably happen with the future SideM stuff now that their 10th is over too. Even AS with their uncontested longevity and ability to do full cast lives 20 years after their debut only really got here because their live schedule was slowed down heavily.
