Depth 3-4 is still perfectly challenging content. Compared to bosses we used to get like Vorkath or Zulrah, most recent content is pretty insane. Doom is meant to be challenging and lower depths are meant to be some of the hardest content in the game. Even just clearing the first few levels is solid

This content is definitely not for me.

Extremely taxing, requires 2b in gear and the rewards are all or nothing on a very rare table with the value of things being so weird.

The bracers are by far the most valueable addition to the game, buffing shadow damage by 6% and providing a similar to fang effect for splash protection for pvpers and those are going for like 170m

Meanwhile, the marginally better nice to have boot set is going for 500m.

The weapon, which is supposed to be a sang-shadow gap filler is gated behind content where the character has shadow and needs a mega rare to grind.

It's a cool boss, and i'm happy its filling the niche for the people who like it, but the scale of difficulty do not seem to match the rewards very well to me. I would have expected yama and this boss to have swapped loot tables.

Blue shield automatically stops your attack, melee shield doesn't. Also blue shield always comes at specific health (75%?), you can kinda predict it. Grubs spawning during blue shield is intended, would take years to deal with otherwise. My only complaint here is that reg shield doesn't stop your attack.
Melee grubs are the new nigglers. How are you supposed to properly deal with the triple melee spawn while dealing with double flicks. You can obviously ignore them, but that permanently increases the healing boss gets from grub.

One thing that has become abundantly clear to me over the years is that Jagex, rather than the players, are far better at considering the long-term health of the game when it comes to interesting reward spaces and managing power creep.

A brief history lesson: Around 2020, when Nightmare came out, it was clear that Jagex wanted to center the game around nichescape and incremental progression. This was followed swiftly by a needed nerf to the Blowpipe, done as an integrity change over players' objections.

However, players going to player. They bitched at the initial proposed ToA rewards (considerably less powerful), they bitched for more BiS everywhere. The end result? Massive power creep in the last few years, with the largest offenders being Nex and ToA. The players are responsible for this.

I say all of the above because despite the new proposed Delve Boss dropping two BiS items, including Boots that are BiS for LITERALLY ALL THREE ATTACK STYLES, people are still "underwhelmed."

Apparently two BiS items are not powerful enough for some of you. Insane.

I beg those prone to complaining to consider the health of the game.

One of the things that makes OSRS unique is that it is not a gear-treadmill like WoW or other MMOs. There are a number of advantages to this:

(1) It keeps older content (bosses/areas) relevant because they still fill equipment niches.

(2) Allows for more diversity in metas; e.g., one piece of equipment doesn't dominate every where (except for the Shadow for Magic, which, again, is the fault of players bitching).

(3) It does not devalue things like Combat Achievements, which are inherently tied to equipment progression. If a new BiS came out every 3 months, older bosses--even difficult ones--would be trivialized completely.

(4) You avoid the icky feeling of having to replace your weapon every 3 months.

you asked for it. rs3 implemented tons of dailies to give people xp. All skills can get up to like 400k-1.2mil xp per hour. They have double xp weekends twice a year. The monetization is somewhat about levels, though only during certain events. Most of it is just cosmetic shit, like 2$ to override all your armor slots one at a time. but in general the 120 skills are fantastic. Slayer is way better in rs3, there's so many more monsters with ez but fun mechanics. Everything has multiple ways to play, and they prioritize giving afk vs efficient options for everything now. It's ezscape but it does feel really good to play. The core of the game is still there and there's nothign wrong with RS3. I just don't find it fun anymore and I hate not having a client.

this might sound retarded but i think the reason i have trouble with tick manipulation is that i think of ticks as discrete but theyre a measure of time so they cant be discrete like you can be halfway through a tick and you dont want to start an action at the end of the tick
