>>533062462I heard about it but I went with IWP instead. That was good
>>533058385I'm building it on IWP with COTZ. I haven't fully checked if there are any hard requirements for COTZ, though. Off the top of my head I know that stalker loadout profiles are added by COTZ (and these have been changed to include the new guns), but as I said, still need to check that they are a hard requirement. Once I get the texture work wrapped up I'm going to double check all the configs and figure it out. If needs be I'll include a vanilla only set of configs, though why anyone would play without COTZ is beyond me.
In short, COTZ will be recommended but not necessary. No other requirements.

>>533139380Sorta like that little game Zero Sievert, in a way.
Core Gameplay Loop:
Start as a Newbie with limited access to the zone.
Gear Up & Rank Up โ Complete missions, gather artifacts, trade, and improve reputation with factions.
Unlock Helicopter Drop Pick Up and Drop Off โ Higher rank grants access to fast travel into deeper zones (but not out).
Push Deeper โ Explore more dangerous areas with rarer artifacts and stronger mutants (bounty hunt) but harsher survival mechanics.
Struggle to Return โ The deeper you go, the harder it is to come back, must trek back to an intermediate heli zone. Longer stay in the zone, stats and gear management.
Key Mechanics & Features:
1. Zone-Based Progression (Gated by Equipment & Reputation)
-Outer Zones (Safe-ish)
-Mid-Zones (Moderate Danger)
Helicopter access into these zones but return only from certain points like outposts.
-Inner Zones (Deadly)
No helicopter accessโmust trek back to mid-zone.
The deeper you go, harder it is to find shelter from emissions;
Different tasks like anomaly studies, artifact gathering and bounty hunt (human and mutant).
Not open world.
Just a basic story to tie things together. Game is focused on how long you can survive in the zone.

There is also the STALKER mod portal wiki but it's extremely outdated and the search feature is broken.
>https://sdk.stalker-game.com/en/index.php?title=S.T.A.L.K.E.R._MOD_portalI also recommend keeping the vanilla SoC unpacked game files in a winrar archive. Winrar has a very useful "search for string" feature (the looking glass icon) where you can search the archive for a specific bit of code and see in which files it pops up. It helps a lot in figuring out which files work together. That's how I learned.

People's patch for OLR 3.0 has been released
>This project is a hodgepodge of various add-ons that improve Oblivion Lost Remake 3.0. Our goal is to refine the modification without fundamental changes in the gameplay. All edits were tested on version 3.0.19, as a result of which it was decided to number the version as 3.0.20.
>The modification will be updated, so we encourage everyone to propose ideas, send their edits and provide all possible assistance in finalizing the original modification. We hope that together with the community, OLR 3.0 will be able to integrate all the useful developments.

I found Father Diodor dead in the Cordon. Looks like he walked into an anomaly. Such is life in the Zone.
>>533264258I dream of the day the NPCs in Stalker get a proper AI to navigate anomalies.
Masters that have managed to survive in the Zone for years shouldn't die by just walking into a lone Springboard in the middle of the field five metres away from the Rookie Village.

Almost got taken out by a zombied Clear Sky member. I turn the corner and he just immediately unloads on me. That was uncomfortable.
>>533265092Sometimes I wonder if that was intentionally done, since mutants can avoid anomalies to some degree. But the builds included an attempt at that if I'm not mistaken.
>>533265092>>533268553In build 2205, from 2005, NPCs could throw bolts when encountering anomalies. The script is still in the final version of SoC, but it's commented out. It's very glitchy and janky and doesn't always work, but an attempt was made.

I was stalkan through the Wild Territory and started thinking, why is it that most mods remove the electro anomalies from the tunnel in the Cordon but none of them remove the burner anomalies from the tunnel in the Wild Territory?
>>533282359because in most mods in which the cordon appears that are not made on the basis of shadow of chernobyl, the clear sky version of the location is used. and in clear sky, the tunnel is anomaly-free. and since there is only one version of the wild territory, the anomalies always remain.
>>533265092I wonder if this is why they decided to cut the arena last-minute and make the main entrance teleport you to the level changer. An entire interesting scenario set up, but the gauss snipers don't do anything but miss shots, the mutant ambushes don't spawn half the time, and the duty/freedom/military stalkers/whoever survives this long going through just get shredded by anomalies.
>>533282782Makes sense. Damn CS.
>brooo they cut out this area near duga because the dev was russian bratan you should be outraged on behalf of russia right n-ACK!

>>533288528>asshurt hoh*ls still shilling ITT
>>533288528? What that anon was talking about is Korogod, an area that Andrey Khokhlov, a Russian developer, worked on when he was employed. Then the invasion happened, he left GSC, Korogod was cut from the game. They didn't cut it just because it was made by a Russian, but because that Russian left the studio. And he left because, in his words from an interview, he was "no longer invited".
>>533282359>>533284926>none of them remove the burner anomalies from the tunnel in the Wild TerritoryWhy is that important? I've found that the path that I always use, hugging the pillars, keeps me in a safe distance to all fire in all the mods I played yet. It's easy except for maybe Anomaly I think where they use the wandering burner anomaly, and even then it is easily doable
>>533293113It's incredibly easy to navigate and is complete muscle memory if you've been playing SoC for a long time, just tedious.
>>533293113Navigating the burner tunnel is no biggie, I just found it strange that not many mods remove them while so many remove the elecros in the Cordon. But it makes sense after what anon mentioned about CS.
>>533293113>>533293372this. Its stupid easy.

>>533250575Looking into it more, the patch was posted by the same dude who wrote the initial article about hi_flyer's harassment. He confirmed on the forum he's not part of the SOP team. So the discord niggers are not involved here. He also just released an update with an option to disable all illnesses, 3.0 is actually playable now.
>>533300310first pic is mine, it's Completion, definitely not the OGSR engine version
second pic is some anonnys old as shit completion screenshot with old translation
completion is prone to corruptions because of how script heavy the mod is, have to save frequently and "play according to developers vision"
ogsr afaik is buggy but haven't tried it myself
>>533302467>all illnessesHow many different illnesses / ailments are in this mod? I thought there was just a single "plague" you'd get from rats biting you.
>>533305838>Radiation sickness - A disease in which your radiation levels rise over time.>Rabies - Infection that creates unbearable effects on the screen and gradually takes away health.>Rat Madness - A kind of "Plague" creates unpleasant effects on the screen.>Zombified Infection or Parasite - A disease that infests a mutated parasite into your body.>Anthrax - Infection that shows frequent shocks to the screen and changes in its color.NPCs can get sick and die too, so at least it's somewhat fair in that regard.

First playtest of Chernobyl Freeplay ended in a crash about two in-game days in when I tried going into X-18. Also crashed every time I tried to load my saves after that. The log reads:
>[error][ 87] : The parameter is incorrect.
In my experience this error is somehow related to the optional tasks. In the old CF I got this error when I added too many tasks. I didn't add so many tasks this time around but I did have more than one task active when I entered X-18. Maybe I accepted one too many and corrupted my saves by saving with more than one task active.
Could also be a memory issue. The Zone was pretty hectic during the first playtest. There were gunfights and mutants running wild in pretty much every level. I'm making changes to lessen the load on the game for my next playtest. Gonna try not having more than one task active at a time as well.

>>533386323I wish you stable stalking anon.
>>533392247>Good hunting, stalker. That doesn't fit as a death message at all. Even "You can't change the current reality and The Zone KICK YOU OUT!" is better.
>>533393229Why not? It's a classic.
>>533395228Because it's a wish of good luck when said by Pidorovich, yet here we have it post factum. We also have a guy lying dead, which means it wasn't, by definition, good hunting. The hunting went so terribly you died. It literally couldn't have gone worse than that.
The only way it'd fit is if it was ironic, as in: "yeah, good hunting, fag. great job", but a man's death is no laughing matter, especially if you literally just walked a mile in the man's shoes. There's enough irony in the world these days, I don't want it in Stalker.
>>533395228NTA, but I don't really see the need to change the default "game over" message to some in-universe phrase, like that one or "lost to the Zone" or whatever. It doesn't add to the immersion or anything, because it's already ruined - you're dead and are about to reload a save. The default text at least is laconic and gets the point across.
Even worse when modders get even more creative and start changing the load screen messages, like "Loading textures" or "Client:Synchronisation...", to shit like "Packing things", "Crossing the checkpoint" and other bullshit as well.
>>533395786>>533398089Interesting takes. I'll keep this in mind.

>>533535534There was no remedy in against psi damage in any of the vanilla games, just protection against its sources.
Anti-telepathy artifacts really didn't seem to reduce the wobbly screen effect.
>>533535534>>533535971I think that telepathic damage isn't really encountered anywhere in SoC except when around a Controller. The psi-zones in Yantar and Radar only check if you have the psi-helmet and they don't even deal psi-damage if I remember correctly.

>>533536476that's true. psi-damage is only dealt by controller's psi-aura, and it's only noticeable on master difficulty, and his ranged psi-blasts, but they deal far more physical damage, so it's barely noticeable anyway. no wonder they removed the psi-health bar from cs and cop.

The other thing is a Karlik's ear. I wanted to make the Karlik unique somehow, so I remade its mutant part. It's not actually a mutant part, in the game files it's an artifact that's just set up to look like a mutant part. So now the Karlik's ear is wearable and gives a small bulletproof boost as a form of good luck charm.

>>533566713Are they really? The best you can get is 20% from five Mama's Beads, which is hardly enough armour to get you through the final fight. Why would you do it without a suit in the first place?
And with a suit, due to how resistance calculation works in SoC, your max armour value will be 68% in a perfect condition exoskeleton, or if you wear a SKAT suit, 64%, where the artefacts only contribute 8% and 9% of those values respectively.
Compare that to the elemental artefacts that can get you to over 150% resistance. Are those 8-9% extra armour really worth occupying all five belt slots?
They're really only useful in the early game, when you have shitty armour or none at all; the better your suit gets, the less effective they become.

>>533588236Did you make it? I wish more mods had a focus or real use for melee.
FELLAS.
GREAT NEWS.
I made it to the fourth in-game day in Chernobyl Freeplay without a game-breaking crash! I think that accepting more than one task at at time somehow causes the game to shit itself down the line. I never accepted more than one, and even though I ran into a repeating bug which forced me to load earlier saves, I never encountered anything that was game-breaking. Also reducing the event spawn rate seems to have helped, the Zone was way less hectic and the game ran much more smoothly.
Good news. Means the mod is stable enough to not completely fuck the player over, at least. Now I just need to tweak some stuff, attempt to fix some bugs and we may be seeing release soon.

While playtesting Chernobyl Freeplay I ran into a very strange bug. Bandit NPCs would change meshes at completely random and seemingly stay that way.
In pic related on the left side is the bandit trader in the Garbage. On the right side is the same NPC but he just randomly changed to using a Duty mesh. This happened to other bandits as well, with some changing to using loner and Freedom models. The Duty NPC in the background on the right side is actually a bandit too.
I did not see this happen with other factions. Maybe it's just because since I was playing as a bandit I was around my own faction the most? Still, never ran into this problem while playing as a loner. I've never seen this before in any mod I've played. What the fuck could be causing this? I'm not sure if it's a bug or some retarded feature I didn't notice until now.
