Realistically I think you counter this hero by counting when he presses R before level 10 and then raping him since he's kind of useless without the level 4 Q and Witchblade, later you just hope to burst him. There's probably some way to rape him since I don't see him in high MMR streams.

Also nobody even plays OD or Huskar mid. At 2600 MMR in the previous matches I saw Hoodwink, Rubick, Snipers , Necros, Disruptor, I rarely lane against a normal mid.

Hello dotards, I'm an old league of legend player, have played that trash since 2010.
Every year since 2013 it's been getting worse, and at the moment all skill is removed from the game, it's all turbo damage, no cooldowns, no mana costs, badly designed kits, filled with mobile game minigames and comeback mechanics.
It used to be beyond easy to stomp noobs, now even against bad players I have to struggle to get any advantage, since any depth has been removed from the game.

My knowledge of dota is very limited, and my question is would it be worth to get into? From what I see of old gameplay I like it, but some newer changes remind me of league of babies, like the free couriers, those jungle item drops, and the traits tree or whatever it's called when you level up.
I am completely sick of comeback mechanics, low depth/skill expression and needless constant changes for the sake of change.
I want to play a game that is worth in the long term and where the more time I put in the more worth it gets.

I quit league more than a half a decade ago and briefly played during corona, started playing DOTA in 2025 and can safely say the game is fun. If you tilt and can't take losing you shouldn't bother though.

In fact I would say DOTA has powercreep everywhere and that's what makes it fun and balanced (at non-professional MMRs, at most high MMRs and professional games it seems only 20% of heroes are viable).

Honestly I wouldn't compare League and DOTA. Just try it out.

As a humble newfag I'll add that 40% of the camps on the current map are isolated and you're kind of griefing if you farm them as a pos1/2 (in many situations) because of that reason, around 40% of the camps have either approach griefed by trees or are too far to farm along with the lane unless the wave is pushed in, basically the only camps you can have a normal farming pattern on at least in the early to mid game is safelane.
While it does not seem to be the case on the video I watched where pathing to camps is relatively open, there's barely any cliffs too.

climbing as pos1 is easier because the pos1 in these games are all dogshit. the times we're given a pos1 that is also smurfing, or they're legend+ playing with a shitter friend, are stomps.
the problem with you trying to play pos1 from 2/3/4/5 is that your pos1 will be some worthless hero that won't even stand in front so you can bait them, so you're playing with 1 less player on your team.
I queue 1/2/3 because I don't want to boost them.
you can carry from support too if you have something that can blink and solo their 1 carry (like a magnus being able to skewer somebody from the fountain to the low ground), but it's harder to carry from support if they have 2 carries.

Yeah I kind of spam OD but I play a variety of heroes, seems I do very good with Leshrac too.
OD is nearly unkillable because I don't slack with him and learned how to itemize and test my limits, I only lose if I have an ultra animal team or they have some punishing lineup.

The problem with me is that if I started playing sidelanes I'd probably lose my shit, the reason I'm able to not tilt every game is because supports don't rotate on midlane, I basically play a small minigame alone until the first rune and build my inertia up and play the game from there.
