Issues I see with that leads to people not joining Second Life are how Lindens cost real life money, when you can do things like VRchat or Resonite without needing to pay. Also in my experience, SL's cliques are quite strong and can be quite unwelcoming for new people, which can be a problem in smaller groups such as certain fetishes. Also SL drama can really be detrimental in certain groups, such as not that common fetish communities on SL, since they have usually at most 1 sim on their topic.
