>>533307817Has he lost his mind?
Can he see, or is he blind?
>>533290750My strategy with deepseek lately has been to directly handhold the model through the early parts of the story. I give it direct feedback explaining what I liked and didn't like. If a particular output keeps having a particular problem, I sometimes edit the instructions and retry.
I keep that back-and-forth in context. Once I build a few paragraphs of something decent it gets better. And then I just have to nudge it a bit or remind it not to do certain things. I edit out any garbage as I go (like unnecessary or nonsensical statements, or "somewhere, a car door slammed" shit).
>>533305930Some of us aren't
Then we have a Russian retard and a schizophrenic who can't help but reply to every single post he makes

>>533305930While I deeply miss NovelAI's UI, I have since moved on to Deepseek. I hold out a bit of hope for whatever text gen model NAI has cooking, I rather doubt it will be as powerful as Deepseek with has high a context length. I end up spending about $5 a month with 32k context.

We had adoptions in January, Caretakers last October, and Balkanization in March; however, orphans/being orphaned and war are broader concepts, so I judged them as acceptable. I apologize if that is too broad-minded on my part. Although if people wanted to consider the switch to Theme Months as a clean slate and open back up suggestions that would otherwise remain restricted, I would be fine with doing that, provided there is enough consensus for such an endeavor.

>>533396216I think the ability to do this is what's keeping it fresh for me. Every model I've used (including all the NAI models, and a little bit of claude and gemini) have had their unique problems and tendencies. I've had the most success with models that allow you to explicitly tell it not to do something.
It's not ideal, but it's definitely not the worst textgen experience I've had. I'm curious what your preferred methodology is.
I think the main thing that's annoying me right now is that the "continue" option in sillytavern sucks because it's a chat program and its granularity is messages, not "blocks", so there's no retry. And random providers don't support prefill.

Wrangling it to- What in the world, my good man????
We're not doing this again, asshole. Have a nice day and fuck off.
Tbh Ive also gotten lazy and act more like an editor than a co-writer for the AI lately. My ability to write prose has suffered because of it.

This whole dang hobby is just using the service and teaching the very short term memory about your kinks and how would you like to coom with the next few paragraphs.
I don't know why I find it so hurlariously funny that THAT is called wrangling and then someone corrects them.
Dunno :D
I am drunk as fuck and might find anything funny at this point.
>>533407203You have never co-written an actual. All you do, as it is obvious by how flippant you treat this technology, is low-quality smut, isn't it? Fuck you. I write stories. Genuine stories that take actual planning, effort, worldbuilding, et cetera. Eat a dick.
>>533405560What constitutes co-writing in your opinion?
Does one have to write every second paragraph all by themselves or something?
>>533407203It's just one of the topics this guy uses to jerk himself off all over the thread, purity testing the term "co-writing" to disqualify instruct models and console war with it. We've done this dance before.
And now he argues that sticking to the actual definition of things is "purity testing". You are retarded. How about you check your anus?
>>533407631It certainly isn't this:
>>533403696Which is what the self-admitted drunkard somehow takes umbrage with. When he sobers up, he'll come back and apologize for whatever cross-eyed interpretation he gaslit himself into thinking this conversation was about.
>>533407979I didn't ask what co-writing isn't. I asked what it is, in your view.
>>533408173If you feel compelled to tell a model what explicitly not to do, you're not working with it. You're dictating what must happen, and what must not happen. That's the job of an editor. Not a writer.
>>533405560>You're [working with it, described uncharitably] instead of working with it
>>>>533408607It's okay to admit you don't co-write. Nobody's forcing you to leave. Co-writing
>>533408223 (me)
If, instead, you rework the output it gives you, without explicitly demanding it do specific actions for you, then by working around what it gives you, for each and every worthwhile output, with the canvas itself being the story that is continuously refined, in its totality, until the story is finished, or otherwise refining your input and going down draft after draft after draft of back and forth review, requiring cooperation, instead of arbitrary thus God spoke stuff (that takes me out of the zone, as it were, which kills my drive to put anything to the pen, or rather, keyboard, in this case)--that is co-writing. It's a specific methodology that operates by a different set of principles than whatever it is you're doing. Music is art. It is not painting. But it is, in a sense, a form of storytelling. That is where the caveat arises, in this circumstance. Asking the machine to do the labor for you is still, ultimately, AI Storytelling. But it doesn't involve the specifics that co-writing entails, from my perspective.
>>533407696Well, it is funnier than the usual whine here. So I'll play along :D
>>533408968 (me)
Imo I think it is perfectly fine to work that way, however. An ideal model would be able to seamless transition from one form to the next, without hindering the overall quality of the outputs, or railroading it. Alas, we do not yet have access to such an ideal model. But I hope that, perhaps, one day, we shall. Then everyone will be happy.
>>533407386Not even trolling or shitting here. I would love to read snippets of your stories. Haha, I can share many of mine. Not that you'd see it as an even trade.

Let's compare 4.5 to NoobAI-XL. I'm curious where the limit to what NoobAI can do is.
Post a prompt you want to see done with Noob, and feel free to replicate this one on NovelAI (adapt what needs adapting).
>pos: masterpiece, best quality, newest, absurdres, highres, blue mouse ears, mouse girl, pov hands, hands on another's face
>neg: worst quality, lowres, signature, username, logo, bad hands, mutated hands
And now he's going to spam the thread about NovelAI somehow not being able to gen a nice ass again, isn't he? Why do you always derail conversations like this?
>>533410026Do you have a screenshot of you using it? It's a prompt, not a story.
>>533410216Actually I'm pretty sure NovelAI is more advanced than any local model (or rather the dataset is better done), but I haven't used it since version 3, which is why I'm posting these.
I'm going out in a bit, but I hope someone posted when I get back. Come on!
https://files.catbox.moe/54nwme.png
>masterpiece, best quality, newest, absurdres, highres, blue mouse ears, mouse girl, pov hands, hands on another's face, transparent skin, internal organs
>>533403696>I'm curious what your preferred methodology is.like the autistic guy with no social skills, I prefer co-writing with a text completion model, not that I'm doing that currently
it's solely because the lack of instructions allows for more spontaneity though, and sometimes I don't even know where I want the story to go
Anyone else get randomly reminded of death and be like oh fuck, I will actually die one day and then what?
Hi, I made a few prompts that feature 100+ random character possibilities.
200 Pokemon from generations I through VII
>https://files.catbox.moe/p2613x.png100 Popular non-oc non-pokemon non-digimon characters according to e621
>https://files.catbox.moe/0dzfnl.png200 Popular Digimon
>https://files.catbox.moe/yoosjd.png>>533410116I know NAI has a tendency to have very random style/quality results since it v4 and v4.5 don't have as much "ai-generated" style "goop" as GHT puts it. I didn't try style tags or vibes here.
>>533411903I've been suicidal for a while so I'd imagine all I think of when I go is "thank God I'm finally done with this shithole"
If there's an afterlife, I'll give it a chance, and if there isn't I'll be glad to finally get some rest. Obviously I'm biased, but I feel like most people, by the time they've reached the end of their life and been at it for so long, will be ready to not suffer anymore
>>533411903We've been worrying about that for thousands of years. Probably tens of thousands
>>533411903Death does not faze me. What I worry is not doing enough to make the world a more better place than it was when I was born in it. Thus far, that's been an uphill battle.
>>533412842>I'll be glad to finally get some restYou won't be glad and you won't get any rest though, cause you won't exist
>>533413671Yes, nullity is the point anon
>>533414010Why did you say you will be glad to get some rest, then?
>>533414228Because I will be glad for something to negate my conscious existence if that's indeed what comes before I die, because right now my life is far more skewed on the suffering side than the joy side. Is that more acceptable?
>>533410116a genuine question
why do people like that generic ai generated style so much? i purposely go way out of my way to avoid it
>>533414974But the problem is if there is no afterlife, there's no point where you'll be aware of that fact. Before you die you'll be alive, and so won't know for sure if you'll cease to exist, thus have nothing to be glad about. After you die, you won't exist, so you can't feel gladness. There's no moment in time where you feel glad
what do people use here nowadays? i mostly use claude 3.7
Please take your shit existentialist elsewhere and quit spamming the thread.
>>533415837Sensory shutdown is a gradual process, so unless it was something sudden like a car crash, you'll feel your senses go (of which hearing and touch are the last to go) and it'll be a lot like drifting into sleep. Only you'll be, well, dead. And I'd imagine that'll be relaxing.
If you want to debate about this kind of thing though, there are better places to do it.

>>533417556That's your job. Likely doesn't pay well.
>>533416678Technically no, I came close with an OD once (going unconscious wasn't that bad, the aftermath sucked ass obviously - the body doesn't like poison and psych wards are actual hellholes), but people I've met have where they've had to be resuscitated. >>533409308I also would like a more seamless interface that combines the strengths of instruct with autocomplete.
I'm honestly tired of only using autocomplete, because literally every model has undesirable patterns, and instructions are by far the most reliable way to work around it and expand the range of what I have to work with and keep it from getting stale.
I don't like having to use a chat interface, but if it's either that or using autocomplete without *any* instructions at all, I'll deal with the chat jank.

>>533520848I could make you a mod that forces female futanari if you want, I guess. I think it should work. For instance I made a mod that has the AI to include gender, species, genital size, and special NSFW attacks in NPC and enemy descriptions. Another one turns every NPC and enemy into an android with specific functions, another one focuses on animal species for humanoid characters and cuddly-cute interactions replacing combat.
But either way, you should take advantage of the Extra Lore field at the bottom of the creation page to state things like, "this is an erotic adventure scenario. Every character is a female futanari with a penis and vagina." or something to that effect. Its quite handy. For instance, I have a space prompt that uses that field to describe that travel between locations uses the MC's space ship, and it literally has done so every single time.
Visually, I don't know if sapphire imagegen can do such content. NAI absolutely can, but you're probably not looking to double down on subscription shit (like a dumbass like me hahahAHAHAHHAA)

There's no beauty without ends
No prompts with no foxgirls
A new toucan beak, will cast aside our pain
Posting side by side in celebration
Reflecting no more anguish by your side
A contradiction worthy to abide
Remnants of Summer Dragon and Larion
A glimpse of love just waiting
Ooooh, a neverending beak to mend it all
Flow, let our time remain and wait for voids to fall
Ascending through the smut stories
It would seem as though they'd last
Admitting to our fetishes
And doubts thrown at the past
There's no rightness in shitposting
Finding comfort in /aids/ once again
Wish the days would pass, just yearning for our beak
Yet there is solace to be found within dismay
Disowning feelings of grief through these AI generated pictures
A complicated love i'd dare not hide
Turbulences come and go
But won't reject me whole
Ooooooh, a bittersweet vision of Larion through me that befalls
Know that despite doomposting i swear to hold it all

>>533809338One trick is to do the Reference Inset thing, where you paste a small picture of the character into genned image OR a blank canvas image, and then either inpaint the character's head/clothes/whatever, OR inpaint the entire blank canvas - respectively.
The latter not going to be good if you're using vibes though, since inpainting does not take advantage of vibes. The former might work, but probably not if you're inpainting whole heads/outfits.
Besides that, its about getting meticulous with details. Eye color, shape. Hair length (short, medium, long), hair texture (straight, wavy, curly, spiky), bangs style (https://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki_pages/bangs). Skin color. Skin details.

This thread has no reason to exist. No community. Recaps died. Themes died. Lying.m bastards slandering Novelcrap's competition. No decent ass imagegens. No decent stories. We will never recover. Admit it, shilling bastards. Accept defeat by my cock.

>>533970503The catch is that everything you send is collected to be either compiled into a training dataset or sold to a third party who will do the same thing. It's up to you to decide how much you trust them and whether it's an issue or not.

How it started, how it's going. I don't know why "You'll sketch me in the morning. I'll burn the toast. We'll be late to everything." hits so hard as a lovestruck promise. Probably because it's so nonsensical and shitty as one that it loops around to being precious and heartfelt in a "it's not much but it's what I can promise" sort of way. I feel like that is maybe even the kind of thing that only AI can really come up with by way of hitting some low-probability tokens and just having to go with it.
