I guess I undervalued the infinite 3/4s and a 2nd mass exile effect. and tog is apparently a wincon in some of the reno druid lists and azalina is run in astral communion which is somehow a serious deck now.

Quest paladin is a much better deck than people give it credit for, in a way it's very meta-defining, the thing is that people like to pretend it's bad because it gets eaten up by other aggro decks, and when there are a lot of those then you won't see it as much. But for example it has a really good matchup into Warrior and DK. It just has really bad matchups into aggro shit and a particularly horrible one into Rogue.
It does have mostly infinite steam. It can generate about 12-14 more murloc cards, then it can also easily get one or two draw 2-3 card turns, then Grunty can generate 4 more, the two Tyrannogill generate 6 and steamfins generate 4 more. In total it can easily generate 30+ murlocs that only get bigger and bigger. It can very easily weather 4 or more board wipes and just rebuild its board every time against control, hence why it's basically an autowin vs control decks.

it's way easier to build a competitive cheap deck in hearthstone because you can just focus your resources on a specific class, build up experience, and then once a new patch/expansion comes you try your best to adapt your deck or just switch to another cheap one if necessary, you'll be playing a lot of aggro decks because the majority of them only needs commons and rares with a few epics/legendaries
MTG Arena doesn't let you turn cards back into resources, so you'll have to be opening a lot of packs to get wildcards and build the decks you want, the flip side is that MTG's nonrotating formats are quite stable, so once you have a deck, you can just stick with it for a long time

overall I think hearthstone is the better game if you want less of grinding upfront, but MTG will reward you better once you get over the hurdle of getting your first real deck

what's up with that elise 5drop location mode, deathrattle: deal 5 to all?
that mode is so hilariously fucking awful compared to the other ones, i just don't get it. the modes in general for her battlecry seem insanely out of whack. like, the only pickable one is the 5, and then you randomly have super strong modes vs super garbage ones. what a weird card.
