I am posting this ITT cause last thread is kill. I have a question about vanilla warlock. playing on the anniversary PVE server, alliance.

I am about to hit level 54. I never did the ZF boost cause I hadn't done the classic leveling journey in a while.

I went the drain tank affliction build. my wand is falling off and All my gear is stacking stamina with a little bit of Spell power with a sexy INCUBUS pet.

I know this is an awful endgame PVE spec, and i can buy a dual spec for 50 gold (I'm at 220g right now but I'd like to save for my epic in case I can't find an open DM insance)
When and how should I respec to destro and am I correct to assume that I need to start stacking spell hit and power gear?

As for making money, do I need to l need to learn dire maul east jump runs cause i have mining or is it better to try and farm eye of shadow and frostmaul e'ko in winterspring? My other toon is a priest with herb and alch and I think he'll have a hard time making gold. back in 2019 I rode around felwood for days and made around 700g just picking herbs

The raid quality tends to be awful, as they can only find clueless players who don't understand the gbid scam yet. They don't do any raid leading themselves, and usually try to message geared players and offer them a % of the gbid cut to tank and carry the raid (Also a scam).
The last ZG I joined that had a gbid took literally 2 and a half hours, and after that I put anyone with gbid in their ads on ignore list.

They are genuine shitters as well, cause I will be in Naxx speedrun gdkp where one of these Iranis somehow got invited and they do no damage and usually grief the raid with ninjapull.

I dunno how raiding is in mop, they might have enough mechanics where you don't have time to dps. I healed in retail and the mark of a good healer is having time to press your damage abilities so I can't imagine MoP being significantly different.

Yeah, for all of the things I think MoP does wrong, the writing and story more than makes up for it. It was damn good. Legion was the last time the writing was remotely good but outside of Illidan’s story there I don’t think it’s on the same level as MoP.

How come In my mind when I was young and playing classic for the first time originally it felt like I was in the barrens for a very long time, but going back now it's maybe like a couple days worth of sessions irl to clear all the quests, do WC an few times and move on?
I remember WC being a much bigger part of my early WoW experience than it is when I go play now.
I'm sure that a lot of this is just relative time and now that I'm older it doesn't feel so long. But... I'm also pretty sure I was a retard and at the time moving over to silverpine to quest there and do SFK didn't really occur to me and would have sped things up a lot during those level brackets.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

Why the fuck was everyone complaining about MoP levelling being too slow? If anything, it's too fast. I literally haven't 100% completed a single zone yet, and I'm about to hit 90 and I haven't even got to Dread Wastes.

I feel you. Leveling 1-60 for the first time as a kid took me several months, nowadays I can knock it out in a couple weeks. I think part of it is just that I'm better at the game now, know where things are, and can optimize my time better. I spent more time back then exploring, getting lost, trying to figure out quest directions, socializing, and engaging with systems and side content that I mostly ignore now. It really made it feel like an adventure but I don't think I can ever recapture that.

yeah it's really not that bad. I think it's shorter than Northrend was. only being 5 levels instead of 10 gives it the illusion that it's slower because each individual level takes longer, maybe.
Cataclysm zones felt a little faster paced at least to me, but Pandaria zones are also way cooler than Cata zones imo.

I often wonder this myself. I'm sure a lot of it is just that videogames are less novel to me now than they were then. I rarely if ever just explore for the sake of exploring or figuring things out when I can just look up the answer. Like I used to do the whole "how far out to sea can I swim", or trying to see how fast, or high I could fly in Ace Combat. And reading ahead in skill trees and looking at future spells and be really hyped about getting to level 30 so I could get that unlocked.
I'm sure it's mostly just an age thing, this stuff is less amazing to me now, and maybe a kid could still get into it like this. But part of me wonders if there really are just gameplay optimizations that optimized the fun out of the worlds too.
I kinda got those feelings during parts of Outer Wilds in kind of different ways, but it's definitely very few and far between with games these days.

I don't like Townlong that much either but I like the rest of the zones. Jade Forest makes up for the rp cause I like the environment, and the story of the Horde and Alliance dragging local races into their conflict is kind of cool. Kun Lai is the best. Krasarang is underrated I think.
anyway it's probably not as good as Outland or Northrend but I vastly prefer it to Cata zones.

They are. There are scarce few places made "just because" anymore. There's some love in making it look cool, but there's only so much you can do with instanced loot halls, and zones that have effectively become loot halls.

Go kill Sha of Anger for free epic boots. There's a scenario quest available at the Temple of the Wite Tiger that will get you a 450 weapon. Spam heroics for more gear. The best dailies to target are Klaxxi and Golden Lotus, Tillers is also pretty good in the long term but not necessary. The rest are mostly just for mounts and cosmetics, so see if there's anything you really want from them.
