Mechanical consistency is of course the driving factor in wasters not having some sort of unique laissez faire attitude about your dumping a bunch of horrible trash on their land and "helping" them, as they do get bonuses from pollution, but giving pretext to raiders for violence is a justifiable enough reason all on its own. Anon that's a jiangshi that I had to feed literally 3000 fresh corpses before he turned into that demon, and every time I send him out to fight 10k point raids he goes berserk from all the killing and attacks my colony with that intensity and he won't stop until his legs are gone or his head comes off, not to mention he is completely immune to conventional weapons. That bastard is legitimately equivalent to the final boss of the mod lotl jiangshis are from. MoeLotl does have incredibly ridiculous skills that easily obliterates anything non-mech by the endgame but they need serious investment and time to reach that pinnacle. This applies to a lot of HAR races because their philosophy is usually giving you rewards for engaging with their mechanics, usually a tier stronger above the highest level tech in vanilla, making them grossly overpowered compared to vanilla in the endgame. If you compare their raw stats to vanilla pawns they are often worse in a lot of aspects. The only races I've played with that are simply stronger than baseliners in their raw stats are Wolfein and Dragonian, having double to quintuple the market value of humans in return.
Using that clip to show how crazy they are is false advertising because you don't know how much of a headache lotl jiangshis are to manage, so here's one clip of their broken skill you can use as a real example. Note that to get this skill you need to go back and forth to their faction or call traders from them to buy five books, completely RNG in spawning, worth 20000~ silver in total, and slow bake six Qi Pills by burning 160 over 10 days each using a cauldron that costs 4500 silver to construct. It's faster and cheaper to make a gene engineered bionic soldier with biotech and you'll probably get the same result in 10k point raids, albeit not with mere two taps of a button

That is a very interesting thought experiment, I love events where you have a wide variety of potential choices that inform your colony. Anomaly has a bunch but I haven't done it much yet.

In your case dickhead spacers would just say 'welcome to the team' and accept her clone as a replacement, individualist star trek types might exile her as she's free to pursue her own life as a new being, more rural or primitive groups might simply kill/punish her out of rage for presuming her to be an evil apparition/imitating spirit.

It's thematically richer than "pirates walked onto the map", which is why the wastepack retaliation is justified. It provides another opportunity for progressive story beats. You dumped wastepacks, so they retaliated, it wasn't a random raid for wealth or to flex. Do you escalate into direct war by attacking their outposts, stop doing it or flagrantly continue? The branching options ultimately don't mean much mechanically, but it provides a groundwork for the great STORIES you read about the game.

It's not really a fair comparison, but as I found out months ago during my tribal slave tournament, a 9-tails biotech revia prisoner with heart failure, minutes from death, was able to kill every other revia prisoner and win the entire tournament because of her tails. Randy sent her in a raid fairly early and I barely managed to capture her.

Nah I mistyped—the CLONE started to have her mind crumble. It reached a point where it became irreversible and she could only do basic tasks. If I had a serum I could have saved her from that fate, but no such luck. I realized though that I had unlocked the death ritual in the anomaly tree and it specifies that EVERYTHING will regenerate upon returning to life. Funnily enough, that included wounds and scars the original pawn had that she also had. I’m just really surprised this worked. My colony is a tribe of impids who worship the void so I think they’d accept her.

They don't, MoeLotls don't come with a hostile faction and if you antagonize them their raiders don't come with level 5 skills, which is where things get crazy. They are honestly extremely easy to take down due to their very low pain shock threshold, and their very slow ghoul-like regeneration allows you to harvest infinite non-vital organs from them, which is a bad exploit. Their faction add-on adds a hostile faction, but they are melee-focused and are weaker than neanderthals. You have to actually toggle the crazy difficulty in the mod settings to see demons like pic related.
Good HAR races respect your game by not making their raiders broken, no matter how high the ceiling for the race actually is. Miho, for example, come armed to the teeth but in very small numbers in the endgame. They are easier to fight than imperials despite their gear being better, partially due to the fact that their base stats are rancid but also because they don't actually gear them in their true endgame gear. Dragonians are fucked sideways in raw stats, but they don't have a hostile faction. There are, of course, races that don't respect that like Milira (has a permanently hostile INSANELY powerful faction, but it does have a difficulty setting), Ratkin Factions+ with Ratkin Weapons+ installed (raiders have no limit to weapon and apparel quality, will come with excellent+ weapons with ANY material even in early game if you're unlucky), or even Moosesian (ridiculous base stats, will literally punch your pawns' head off). You never know until you try the race, but most of them don't hijack your game and make you live in permanent fear of their raids. Unlike Milira.
Revia is as strong as Dragonians, maybe even stronger at max tails. I would say they are one of the broken races, especially since they don't have a major drawback like disabled work types and x5 market value like the dragons.

It's still risky and (probably) stupid, but I think the ship we build in the end is more of a space raft than a spaceship. It exists only to get off the planet and reach civilization.

Logically, a gravship should be compatible with vanilla ship tech.
It's basically a way to cheat the gravity and get to orbit without burning a ton of fuel, so it makes sense that any ship capable of landing on a planet should be equipped with a grav engine (otherwise it would be ridiculously expensive).

Tynan could do better, as always, but mods will fix it sooner or later.

Just now I had a quest offering some rewards in return of accepting a Mechanoid drop. I cleaned it up quickly, took some light wounds, people got low on Mood, the usual.

if that's not worth it then i'll have the ghouls just be tough+nimble+jogger so they dodge more and move faster compared to the void touched option

Damn, wasn't as good as I hoped. Centipedes shooters still shoot too much to rely on cover to protect pawns, as well as the fire ones worn down the firefoam poppers after a bit. Had to use a drop down shield too. Shame, wanted to conserve them since this cluster didn't have one I could scavenge. Also no mechs flanked up north so that was worthless, while a whole bunch flanked from the south.

Its just basic shit like CE, rjw, vgp/fertile fields, EPOE and such.
75% of it is qol, missing features fixes, removal of retarded shit put by tynan etc.
Few VE mods too, the ones that arent for 1.4 - Generator, Cryoforge and Deadlife plus Ancient Urban Ruins.
Oh and few Odyssey fixes like no limit on engines, gravcores etc to build a fucking SHIP not some dinky lifeboat.

What are your experiences with this thing? Seems way better now than how I remember it.

I've been experimenting with some different tactics to how I usually play, so no turrets, no mines, no killboxes etc and they've been doing work for me like this. Lots of jetpacks and jumpers are also involved and lancers have bandoliers and mostly all triggerhappy.

For most of 1.4 it was broken, and for a long time before that lots of mods coded in sub-optimal ways would require it and Performance Analyzer would report HugsLib as tanking TPS. Nowadays it's just on life support and includes a bunch of redundancies covered by default, altogether unused, or covered by other frameworks. I think people just single it out particularly because a lot of mods people got used to(Allow Tool, for instance) still require it and haven't moved on or redone their code to optimize anything beyond just making things work with newer updates. Sometimes mods go through multiple owners too, so it's really muddied as to what's doing what and if it's the HugsLib itself or the mod. I think by itself it's just increasingly nothing for mods that could very easily just rip out the bit they need to work and not rely on an entire framework

It did this because the mods were using functions added by hugslib, which is the root of the problem with HugsLib. Some of its classes are poorly optimized and in dire need of a rewrite. It's not really noticeable if you use a lightweight HugsLib mod (for a long time it was the easiest way to add settings to your mod), but these days lightweight mods are written with Harmony patches and mods that only need the settings use XML Extensions.
