I'll see you guys at the end of the year for the main story update. The only positive change to quartz income was the 3000 from battle seasons every 2.5 months. Style balance is next to pointless, even if I think the changes were good because powercreep is too insane. Master skill changes were good too, but it again still seems half assed for what's a bi-yearly change. It literally just moved them up from unusable to usable. -1 SP cost is very good and I wish they gave it out more. Skip is cool, but it really only saves like 2 minutes a day. Being able to level quickly seems more useful. Very disappointed that they were actually going to release 4 SSR in a row and the only reason it isn't completely terrible was because of the backlash. Slightly disappointed in the Power pro collab, but it could be good. Mostly disappointed in how JP is still the "farm whales" server compared to EN and CN, even if it does have to carry the revenue.

I genuinely don't care about the game balancing changes, as it mostly affects the people going for max difficulty Score Attacks which i wasn't doing anyways; I think it's being overblown, and feels more like incompetence than malice, especially with how often they backpedal on such things.
The new SS rarity variant however doesn't get enough hate. Pure greed to pull that shit this late into a games lifespan, and unlike the balance changes, this actually affects the more casual non-metafag players and characterfags too since they now have to be more conservative with their quartz now.

And anyone who thinks HBR (global especially) is on the upper-end of greedy gachas, really needs to (not) play other gachas. You don't know true greed until you drop $200 on a banner with no spark and don't even get a single copy of a limited time (actual limited time, unlike HBR's definition) unit, on top of using up all the in-game currency you've saved up for the past 5 months, even with multiple rate-ups. If you've been playing since launch, and have been buying the gold passes, you should have had enough quartz to spark for an entire 6-squad team by now (like i have), as long as you don't skimp out on getting rewards and doing dailies.

Yingxia SS1 - If you do not have her, pick her. While it is true that she is powercrept by Ruka SS5, she is the single best addition to any non-Adel team until then.

S Tier

Aoi SS1 - A cheat button. Provides 3 turns AOE provoke and 2 uses of AOE cover/invuln. Extremely useful on SS2 and SS4 as well.
Yotsuha SS1 - Extremely good and future-proof Fire Buffer.
Muua SS1 - Healing and TacVision in one EX skill. Even if you have Tama SS5, Muua SS1 can still be very useful in certain teams or in 2-team fights.
Irene SS1 - As long as you can get to her Tower Floor in the upcoming update in September and evolve her EX skill so that it becomes Critical Penetration, Irene SS1 can become your go-to daily farmer, dispatching most flashback fights with ease.

A Tier

Aina SS1 - Extremely good OD generator and Debuffer. However, Aina SS2 and Ichiko SS3 are later preferred for OD generation. Aina SS3 does use SS1 EX a lot though.
Seira SS1 - Excellent crit buffer if you are in need of one, especially with her upcoming Tower Upgrade in September.
Fubuki SS1 - Once she gets her Tower Upgrade, she performs the same role as Miya SS2, but this upgrade may take a while to arrive on our server.
Maki SS1 - Same deal as Fubuki SS1, but will probably get her Tower Upgrade sooner than Fubuki.
Niina SS1 - Her common skill is an extremely good dungeon carry. Very good pickup if you want to make Tear Dungeon easier.

She is a Blaster/Buffer hybrid, providing Fire Attack Up and Fire Crit Dmg in a skill that also has high DR, but this can be seen as a side-grade to Yotsuha SS1. She also provides herself with Shadow Clones, which allows her to dodge incoming damage and debuffs. Her EX skill's also costs half SP if she has Shadow Clones, letting her put out buffs fairly quickly. Later, her Master Skill makes it so she provides AOE cover if she has a Shadow Clone, making her insanely good for sustain. So while she is useful now, and very useful later, you don't really need to pick up her unless you really want to play Fire but are lacking Yotsuha SS1 (but you can pick up Yotsuha SS1 from the Free SS1 Selector anyway).

Mari SS4 is a Fire Attacker with good self buffs so long as she has Shadow Clones, but her damage tends to be lacking and her buffs overlap heavily with Tama SS5. Also, didn't you get Yuri SS1 for free? Pretty solid skip unit.

Wakki SS3 and Yuki SS5 are units that were good on release, but with our foresight, they don't really stand the test of time. Wakki SS3 is an AOE Thunder Attacker who provides 1 stack of Party Thunder Attack Up and comes with the ability to donate 6 SP to a party member, making her more of a Supporter than an Attacker. She also comes with a passive 5x10% funnel, making her pretty good in dungeon and Arts Battle (as long as you have access to her only AOE common skill from SS1). She really shines at LB3, but lower than that may not feel super useful.

Yuki SS5 provides Large Dark Field and can dispel 3 Debuffs from all enemies. While this will be best-in-slot for Dark, she will quickly become overshadowed by Iroha SS2+1.
