Like compare pulling out a verdict to pulling out a sabre. One does 125 damage per bullet and instantly fries anything infront of you, not to mention what it does to shit far away. Saber does 110 damage without peak physique per swing. Verdict does this 3 times as fast as saber, while doing more damage.

Like honestly? I'd triple the damage bare minimum. If you're willing to risk hitting something in melee you should deal more damage. I'd remove the bonus from peak physique and pauldron armor. Give it like a bonus where it doesn't spend stamina and call it a day.

Of course guns are going to be better than melee weapons. The 'sell' of melee is a way to kill chaff while expending zero ammunition, except ammo is effectively infinite and plentiful because resupplies are on a short cooldown and enemies don't take much ammo as they used to.

Because alpha commanders use the old enemy design, there is no ome singular answer.

Durable greatly reduces damage to everything but it's torso. It's legs have less durable, but transfer reduced damage to the body. A bolt hitting one of it's parts will transfer some of it's power to the part behind it due to the penetration slowdown mechanics. The explosion component of the crossbow will only deliver damage to it's main body. If the explosion detonates too far from it's main body, it will lose something like 35% of it's damage + lose damage from it's decay. And there's more, but i'm already tired of thinking about these.

The system is crazy complicated for what it aims to do, and like two thirds of it's complexity were removed for the new enemies, so I don't even know it it's worth understanding. I guess you want to hit it's main body with an angle that hit's it's head as it exits. Maybe?

It's shit. That's what it is. Light pen weapons are good if they are agile tackdrivers can can just nail weakpoints or bottomless bullethoses like the sickle/stalwart. The variable is not egonomic enough to snappily pick off weakpoints and it doesn't have enough ammo to just go full faceroll bullethose.

So the pacificer is unironically bretty good on bugs. The low damage isn't an issue since most of them have peanut health and anything bigger gets stun locked and penned to death.

Light pen is often better anyway. Higher damage, more ammo, better ergonomics, more attachments. You really only slot medium if you want your primary to do everything and have a highly specialized support weapon. Even then I'd argue the times you genuinely need something between light pen and AT is pretty minimal. Then again I usually don't run dedicated AT. It's AC/LC/HMG 90% of the time for me. I'll throw EATs in there if I feel like I'm gonna be lackin.

Naw that's gay. You never run out of ammo unless you're playing poorly. Secondaries work best as a compliment to your primary, or a utility if your primary is a compliment to your support weapon.

EG: Taking Punisher + Grenade launcher (Keeps them out of your face), or taking breaker + talon (Lets you ping things when it's safe and keeps your kit ammo efficient).

For punisher + grenade launcher you could take something like ultimatum to have pocket heavy clear, or even stim pistol just cause you don't need much else. Hell verdict is still valid because you wouldn't have ap3.
It's satisfying just having a kit where every part of it is valuable and serves a utility.

In practice it's something like this:

Its ammo economy sucks, even for a backpack-less support weapon. Seven shots per mag, six spare mags, and each ammo box you pick up only replenishes one magazine. Which means that you're effectively reliant on either picking the Supply Backpack on every loadout with the AMR, or not being able to go off solo in any capacity due to the need to stick with the team for the Resupply (which, by the way, absolutely requires the Superior Packing Methodology upgrade).

In terms of damage, it isn't that much better than the Eruptor, which does half the direct damage per shot but more than makes up for it with explosive and shrapnel damage, all while taking up the primary weapon slot. That explosive damage also allows it to destroy spawners and break open cargo doors.

It feels kind of like using the pre-buff HMG. Yes, it is technically a weapon that can kill enemies, but with a bunch of drawbacks that make it so much worse than other support weapons. You would only ever pick it if you intentionally wanted the challenge of trying to succeed using something that's absolute dogshit. Of course, the AMR isn't actually as bad as old HMG, but it gives me a similar feeling.

Just got through the longest dive of my life.
Join a random. Fight some bugs on the tail end of a mission, only one bug nest left & then the evac, finish it out & stay with the group for the next one. Host chooses bots & we drop. I was still kitted for bugs & didnt realize but its not that bad. I start off going after bot forts. Entire team starts following me. Im used to half solodiving, half teaming up for the big stuff, but I've rarely ever been on a mission where the group stays together. We start slowly clearing the map. It's not hard but I start to notice some stuff.

No one else seems to know how to destroy bot fabricators. Some are shooting shotguns at it. Some are throwing grenades but not aiming for the windows. These guys are acting completely green. All they do is shoot the enemy & throw stratagems occasionally, but they don't know how to actually clear objectives. We're in a city so the mission is to blow up fuel silos & such. I call down a hellbomb & the lost little ducklings stay right next to it while I run off behind cover. No one else is calling down hellbombs either. I TK'd them THREE TIMES because they just sat there. It was uncanny. These guys were somewhere between 20th & 40th level. Im only 82nd myself, but what the hell? I destroyed EVERY FABRICATOR. I did EVERY OBJECTIVE. With a subobtimal kit too. These guys just shot the bots & would sporadically entrench themselves against random patrols instead of just ignoring them. Wildest experience I've had.
