Amirdrassil was the 2nd iteration of this new format they started with df s2. We are not 5 iterations deep with this stones/crests shit and people are tired of it. If Midnight is just devles/m+/raids crests stones then people are going to be pissed. One of the things that has made wow such a long lived and loved game is that Blizzard, for better or worse, changed things up a lot. The games formula is stagnant and we will see backlash in Midnight if it's more of the same.

If you want to be optimal you should pick 1 of each armor type just so you can use all the dress options. It's so easy to level these days that you'll probably level 1 of each which you should to see what class/spec clicks for you.

class identity is all over the place. you have the master of magic shadows but also a ninja while failing to be either. you have the former thief combatant from rpgs that was turned into a fucking pirate themed piece of shit with rng out of the ass and a flat damage curve (you need to play well the entire time during a long fight while spike damage profiles only need to play well during short burst windows) and a poison master but the poisons are a nuisance at best
you bring nothing to the groups unlike other classes and in a game where playing melee is seen as a negative you best be bringing big dick damage except you don't bring that either and even when you do it requires much more effort
also rogues are the bane of everyone's existence in pvp and have been for decades so everyone but roguecels are sad when rogue is in the gutter

TB, this guy, and others have pointed out exactly what the problems were for YEARS and Blizzard basically just stopped giving a shit somewhere around Cata possibly even before then and committed to pumping out a simple formulaic expansion based product that followed a very similar blueprint to Call of Duty. New maps, new guns/armor, new campaign, new gimmick (borrowed power).
It was simple and easy to make and would give guaranteed returns. That's what Kotick always believed in. Eventually you just realize the dev needed to enact such changes and an individual working at Blizzard in development with enough power to enact change like that will never exist in such a corporatized environment.
You will only have senior delegating "producers" and marketing types like Holly Longdale get promotions and entropy will work its way through the company like every other.

This is the life of a warrior, tried and true. TWW in particular is a prot expansion only. You're not allowed to play dps warrior this expansion.

Im struggling with picking a class. I've decided I really want to play with a controller, I've already got console port working and a layout I like, but now I'm struggling between finding a class that has less than 24 buttons in their typical rotation (things like mount up, hearth, revive, one time click buffs like aug evoke) as well as a workable APM. I've tried it out with three melee classes, fury warrior ww monk and dps demon hunter and it works really well, but I think I might be looking for something with less apm? Some sort of caster sounds like it could be fun and I'm wondering which one you guys suggest? I haven't played Retail wow in years, and it's been even longer since I played a casting class.

How's shadow priest? Is fire mage still fun? I remember really liking hitting my procs and playing whack a mole, but it's been yeeeeears since I played fire mage.

The devs clearly hate warriors. They like mage, paladin, and sometimes hunter.
Mage players eternally seethe at warriors because they died to one in pvp one time like 10 years ago, and paladin players eternally seethe at warriors for the "put on the dress" memes from vanilla. It's fair to say the few devs who do play the game most likely all play mages and paladins which would explain the extensive bias towards mages and paladins and against warrior.

Warcraft unironically needed to reboot itself every 10 years.
The problem with WoW is the core-cast we've been stuck with for so long has dragged on and on and they've barely bothered to build anyone new up, while all the VA's of the current cast get older and older.
You could solve the majority of the narrative issues this franchise suffers these days if they could finally put all the Warcraft 3 characters on the shelf and actually develop any of the cast they kept slapping into factions from Cata onwards.
Especially the BFA cast.
Instead they try and solve this matter of the cast giving you the Warcraft 2 cast instead
